YouTube star Yung Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is currently on bail after being arrested and charged with sexual assault in Australia

YouTube rapper Yung Filly may be forced to stay in Australia for two years while awaiting trial.

The 29-year-old musician, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Brisbane, Australia, earlier this month after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Perth hotel room the previous month. After being arrested following allegations on 8 October, he was flown to the Western Australian city of Perth the following day.

Following an initial hearing on 10 October, Valencia Barrientos was granted conditional bail – where he was ordered not to mention his case via social media and instructed not to contact his accuser. Now reports have suggested Valencia Barrientos may not be allowed to leave Australia until his case comes to trial – which potentially may not happen until late 2026.

A second hearing for the case is scheduled to take place in December this year. The musician has reportedly secured accommodation in Perth for the next six months.

The MailOnline has claimed to have witnessed documents from Perth Magistrates Court that outlines the alleged series of events during the night of the allegations. The report adds: “It now has also been revealed that the British musician will have to spend two years in Western Australia waiting for a trial by jury on eight charges in the WA District Court, which should effectively put his music career on hold.”

It is reported that Valencia Barrientos was a guest performer at the Bar1 Nightclub in Perth on September 27. The alleged victim, 20, was within the VIP section of the venue where she remained “until the early hours of the following day”. It is then alleged that Valencia Barrientos and his accuser met after he finished his performance and as the venue was closing.

The pair are then said to have gone to a hotel room together – however the alleged victim left at 5:31am and immediately called a friend. It has been reported that Valencia Barrientos has been charged with four counts of rape, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of impeding the woman’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to her neck. The Mirror has contacted a representative of Valencia Barrientos for comment.

The musician’s friend Amin Mohamed, who is known on YouTube under the name Chunkz, has addressed the case online, saying in an Instagram video clip: “Like everyone I’ve heard the reports coming out of Australia. While I understand many of you want my reaction on it, as this is an ongoing court case I hope you guys understand that I can’t and won’t be commenting on it publicly, so yeah I’ve just come on here to basically let you know the reasons as to why I can’t. Love.”

Earlier this year, Valencia Barrientos announced he is set to become a first time father. He said in a social media video in May: “Ladies and gentlemen, if you watch my videos then you would know that I really love God. But as well as loving God so much, what I really would love in this world is family. And um… I’m having a baby.” He added a caption stating: “Boy or girl either way I’m blessed. Was hard to keep this a secret.”
