Zendaya wore a stunning ring on her wedding finger to the Golden Globes on Sunday sparking rumours she is set to marry Tom Holland
Zendaya was asked point blank at Sunday’s Golden Globes if she was engaged to Tom Holland.
Zendaya seemed to confirm the news herself on Sunday, flashing a huge rock on her ring finger as she posed on the red carpet.
Then, hours later, reports emerged that Tom had indeed proposed to his partner, popping the question over Christmas. What’s more, when one reporter asked Zendaya if her ring was confirmation she was set to marry her Spider-Man co-star, she gave an epic response.
A reporter at the A-list bash, who is recently engaged herself, is said to have flashed her own engagement ring at Zendaya. According to Film News, in response Zendaya flashed back her own eye-popping ring. When point blank asked if she was engaged, the Euphoria actress “kept showing her ring, smiled coyly and shrugged her shoulders mysteriously”.
Meanwhile, Tom is said to have ditched the glitz and glam of their A-list lifestyle and opted for an intimate proposal, popping the question in private at one of Zendaya’s family homes. A source told TMZ that Zendaya’s family members weren’t present for the proposal, with Tom keeping the moment between himself and his wife-to-be.
And fans were quick to pick up on Zendaya’s ring on Sunday, with many taking to X, formerly known at Twitter, to debate whether or not it was time to congratulate her and Tom. “WAIT A MINUTE,” one fan exclaimed after spotting the ring. “Doesn’t match her other pieces,” another observed. “THEY GETTIN MARRIED! ” a third chimed in.
Tom has taken a break from acting for the past year, after making it no secret that he’s ready to prioritise family life. He spoke about the idea in an interview back in 2021 whilst promoting the film Spider-Man: No Way Home shortly before the superhero sequel’s release that year. He toldPeople: “I’ve spent the last six years being so focused on my career. I want to take a break and focus on starting a family and figuring out what I want to do outside of thisworld.” Tom added that he “can’t wait to be a dad.”
Zendaya and Tom have been officially been dating since 2021, after meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. As soon as they started working fans speculated that romance could be in the air, with many noting their chemistry in interviews and in the hit movie.
Although initially keeping their relationship private, the duo began to share their love for each other more publicly online, sharing a slew of sweet images, behind-the-scenes snaps and adorable tributes to each another on social media. In 2022, it was said that the duo were “serious and permanent” with one another. An insider told US Weekly at the time they were “both in settling-down mode and are absolutely planning for a real future together”.
