Singing sensation Adele has been seen for the first time in six months after she told fans that she was ‘going away for a long time’ following her Las Vegas residency

Adele turns heads with striking new look as she’s seen for the first time in 6 months

Adele made a rare return to the public eye on Sunday as she attended the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, after months away from the limelight following her sold-out Las Vegas residency.

The 37-year-old singer was photographed in the Mercedes AMG Formula One garage, smiling alongside drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Dressed in a black button-down shirt and matching trousers, Adele showed off her toned figure and striking weight loss as she toured the pit lane.

It was her first public outing in six months, her last appearance being at an NBA game in Los Angeles with fiancé Rich Paul back in April. Although fans have occasionally spotted the Hello star around Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, she has largely kept her distance from the public eye this year.

Fans were gutted when the 37-year-old announced a ‘big break from music’ last summer, telling a crowd in Munich, where she performed a string of 10 gigs: “I will not see you for an incredibly long time. I just need a rest, I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.”

She also told German broadcaster ZDF: “My tank is quite empty at the minute. I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while. You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?”

Though it was thought Adele, who is already mum to 13-year-old Angelo, was keen to start a family and have a baby girl, if possible, with partner Rich Paul, who it’s unclear if she has secretly married following her divorce from ex Simon Konecki.

Amid her sudden disappearance from the limelight, reports have suggested that the singer has other plans up her sleeve. And it’s said she has “purposefully” been keeping a “strict” low profile “more than ever” – perhaps to pursue a long-held ambition to teach, which she wanted to do before she became famous.

Sources told Daily Mail earlier this month that Adele has “purposefully” been maintaining a strict low profile.

“This is not new that she’s keeping her private life separate, she has a right to one, but it does have to be said that more than ever before she is going the extra mile to be strict about what she lets people see,” one insider explained. “It’s very different from last time, she’s purposefully keeping the public at bay.”

It’s believed Adele has been studying for a degree in English Literature, fulfilling her pre-fame ambition to become a teacher. During the final night of her Vegas residency last November, she told fans: “I’m not doing anything else. I’m actually s***ing myself about what I’m going to do. I don’t have any f**ing plans. I guess I’ll just day-drink.”

Uncertain about when she’ll release new music or tour again, Adele admitted: “I just don’t know when I want to next come on stage. And it’s time to move on. It’s time for the next chapter and it’s time for the next season of my life.”

Looking ahead, Adele also revealed hopes to expand her family, telling fans in 2024: “Once I’m done with all of my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby.

“And I want to have a girl because I’ve already got a boy… With me as her mother and Rich as her father, my daughter’s going to be a bossy little queen, isn’t she?”
