You don’t need to gorge on a garlic bread baguette to get your fix, thanks to Aldi. The budget supermarket has sensationally restocked a bizarre flavour of crisps which has got shoppers talking.

The Specially Selected Garlic Bread Cinkle Cut Crisps first hit the shelves in 2023, and just two years later they are back. But there’s a catch – and that’s the fact they won’t be stocked for long nationwide. Fans of the popular snack have described them as “dangerous” and “game changing”, and when the crisps were first pulled from the shop floor, customers were not best pleased.

The £1.15 bags left people begging for their return, taking to social media platforms to make the call-out. Found in the middle aisle and priced at £1.15, the delicious crisps have a smoky garlic taste and Aldi’s premium Specially Selected crinkle cut style crisp create a mouth-watering snack that will leave you wanting more. But as is typical of Aldi, such one-offs won’t be around forever.

One happy customer posted the news on the Food Foods UK Official Facebook Group, saying: “They’re back! Garlic bread crisp in Aldi!” Gathering thousands of replies, many other excited shoppers expressed their happiness after seeing the good news.

One wrote: “OMG!! I wrote an email last month asking for them to bring them back” while another added: “the dream”, with a second one adding: “These are a dangerous purchase as it’s so hard to stop eating them!”. To avoid disappointment, it’s recommended to phone your nearest store ahead of your visit. Stock and availability may vary depending on the location.

Aldi is renowned for its quirky middle aisle restocks every Thursday, and for its low prices, often landing it the gong as the cheapest supermarket in Britain. The supermarket giant regained the crown back in 2024, just before Christmas, by consumer champions at Which?

Just last month, a probe by Which? analysed a basket of 100 items from varying supermarkets – with Aldi narrowly beating its closest rival, Lidl. Aldi’s shop came in at £182.64, narrowly beating its closest rival Lidl, where the same shop cost £184.94 without a Lidl Plus loyalty card, and £184.51 with one.
