Aldi has recalled its Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns because they may contain sesame, which is not mentioned on the label, and some may also contain duck meat

Aldi has recalled its Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns over fears it could spark serious allergic reactions.

The bao buns may contain sesame, which is not mentioned on the label. This means they could be a health risk to anyone who is allergic to sesame. The bao buns may also contain duck meat, which is also not listed on the packaging.

Aldi sells the bao buns in packs of eight, with the supermarket confirming that all best before dates are included in its recall. The bao bans have the barcode number: 4061463842909. The supermarket has urged customers not to consume the product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund.

Aldi stated: “Our supplier is recalling Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns due to an error meaning some products contain an undeclared allergen (sesame) as well as duck meat which is not listed on the packaging. This may present a health risk to anyone with a sesame allergy.”

The supermarket added: “We apologise this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.” If you’re concerned about this product, you can call Aldi on 0800 042 0800 (UK) or fill out its webform.

It comes after Tesco recalled its Tesco Finest All Butter Pastry Mince Pies because they may contain pieces of dried glue from packaging. This included the following best before dates: October 4, 2024, October 26, 2024, November 2, 2024 and November 10, 2024.

If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to any store for a full refund. For more information contact Tesco Customer Service Team on 0800 505 555. The Co-op has also pulled its Co-op Irresistible Luxury Lasagne Al Forno because of undeclared mustard and sulphites.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard, sulphur dioxide or sulphites. The use by date included in the recall is November 17, 2024 – all other dates have been cleared as safe to eat. If you purchased online, you can receive a refund by calling 0330 041 7737. You can contact the customer careline on 0800 0686 727 or email via the product issues or returns section of the Co-op website.

For all product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves.
