You can now get your hands on a refurbished 13 inch MacBook Pro for just £159 – but you’ll need to be quick as the deal is only available for a limited time
Apple’s latest laptops are packing some serious punch, with the new MacBook models boasting impressive performance on the move. However, not everyone requires such hefty processing power and can manage perfectly well with an older, more traditional model.
If your laptop needs extend to checking emails, drafting a few Word documents and staying updated on social media, then this deal is tailor-made for you. For £159 instead of £399, you can get a MacBook Pro 13-inch model, which is still up to the task for most online activities.
Currently on offer at Wowcher, these models are refurbished by Naza Electronics. This means they’ve had previous owners but have been professionally cleaned and serviced to be resold.

You might spot a few cosmetic scratches, but rest assured, the product will function as expected. Plus, it’s a greener choice than buying brand new.
This specific model hails from 2011, equipped with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. Don’t expect to edit videos on this device, but it’s more than capable of handling basic tasks like word processing and streaming Netflix with ease, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The smaller 13″ display makes it quite portable. It should fit into most backpacks without any problems, making it perfect for younger students who need to do some homework while on the move. LaptopMag reviewed the device at the time of its release and gave it a solid four-star review. They praised its ‘superb battery life’ that lasts over eight hours and an ‘excellent keyboard and touchpad.’
However, they did note that the bottom of the device can get warm when the hardware is pushed to its limit. This might be something to think about if you plan to use the laptop on your lap. As for Wowcher, it currently has a rating of 4.4 on Trustpilot. One satisfied customer wrote, “Easy to redeem and seems like a good deal,” about the product they bought. Some customers have complained that the postage costs are not included in the deal price.
In the case of the MacBook Pro, you’ll need to add an £8.99 fee to the £159 product fee. If you’d prefer a more recent model of MacBook, you can also get a refurbished version of the 2020 MacBook Air from BackMarket for just over £500.
This includes Apple’s in-house designed processing hardware, which results in better performance and longer battery life. Alternatively, Currys has a good selection of laptops available, including MacBooks.
These come in a range of prices, but you can get a brand-new Windows laptop for a reasonable price if you’re concerned about buying refurbished one.
