Arsenal are still attempting to complete their first transfer of the summer transfer window as links continue to emerge with Victor Osimhen and Riccardo Calafiori, while William Saliba could exit

Arsenal are expected to have a busy summer transfer window this year.

The Gunners spent a lofty amount 12 months ago as they attempted to trim the gap to Premier League rivals Manchester City. They find themselves in an almost-identical position this time around.

Arsenal have already been linked with a host of stars ahead of the new campaign. That includes Victor Osimhen and Euro 2024 star Riccardo Calafiori.

But in order to improve his squad, Arteta may have to sell. Take a look at all of the latest transfer rumours to come out of the Emirates over the past 24 hours:

Arsenak move on from Osimhen

Arsenal have reportedly chosen to abandon a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. The Gunners had previously been linked with a big-money swoop for the Nigerian frontman.

But they have moved onto alternatives. According to Corriere dello Sport via footballitalia, Arsenal prefer a move for Sporting Lisbon’s Victor Gyokeres.

The Gunners consider the Swedish striker’s potential wage packet more affordable and are focusing on a move for him. They would still have to spend €100m in order to secure Gyokeres’ services.

Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea were also linked with Osimhen. But the Red Devils prefer Joshua Zirkzee and the Blues have moved on.

Real Madrid interested in Saliba

While Arsenal are keen on bolstering their attacking options this summer, they might have to add a new defender. William Saliba is reportedly being eyed by a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.

As per Mundo Deportivo, the Frenchman is at the top of Real Madrid ’s potential candidates to replace outgoing captain Nacho Fernandez. Real Madrid are not the only side interested though.

PSG are also in the running should he decide to leave the Emirates. Saliba, 23, has three years left to run on his contract in North London.

Bologna chief offers Calafiori update

Bologna Technical director Giovanni Sartori has admitted that his side may be forced to cash-in on star defender Calafiori this summer – but only if their asking price is met.

“There is talk of Juventus but also of many other teams,” he said to Sky Sports Italia. “At this moment we will try to keep him. If important offers were to arrive, we will have to think about it.

“I am not saying that we will sell him because the president has said that he wants to keep the whole team, but we will certainly make some evaluations. I do not think he will go to Juventus, he will probably go in a different transfer window, but I repeat that we would like to try to keep him.”
