If you’ve found your next car, you might want to act quick – as AutoTrader has worked out the most in-demand vehicles disappear from their site in an average of 13 days or less

Looking for a new car, or flogging your old one? Autotrader has compiled a list of the fastest selling vehicles in the UK, and the winner might just surprise you. Whether you commute hours away from the office and need a reliable wagon, or want to show off with a fancy sports car – driving is a necessity for most Brits.

Therefore, the car sales site has analysed the average number of days each car was listed on its platform before being removed – assuming this means a sale has gone through. This data was collected in June 2023 so may have slightly changed, especially with the surge of electric vehicles (EVs) now on the market.

The most popular vehicle had an average live listing time of just 11 days before being snapped up. So, if you’ve found the perfect car for you but are feeling a little hesitant – this is your sign to act quickly, or you might miss out on your dream vehicle.

Fastest selling cars in the UK

1. BMW X1

This car, which costs a whopping £35,990 new, takes less than a fortnight on average to sell – and it’s easy to see why. “With precise handling, a well-tuned suspension and responsive steering, it’s known for providing a sporty and agile driving experience,” Autotrader wrote.

The X1 also boasts a bunch of ‘advanced tech’ which makes nipping to the shops more convenient, safer, and entertaining. “The model’s Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity, a responsive infotainment system, intuitive controls and driver-assistance systems all combine with its high-quality plush interior, elevated seating and large cargo area to create a car that feels as good as it looks,” the car site added. “No wonder our data shows that it’s a quick seller!”

2. Lexus NX 350h

This SUV only takes around 13 days before it’s snapped up by some lucky driver. It’s great for those wanting a luxury car that you can really trust: one that’s much more than a fancy design. “The NX 350h has an incredible crossover appeal, boasting SUV-like styling and higher seating positions but with the economic engine efficiency you’d expect from a hybrid,” Auto trader explained. “Given its rugged yet stylish look, reputation for reliability, its advanced safety features and promise to deliver a luxurious and smooth ride, it’s easy to see why UK drivers are snapping up the Lexus NX 350h so quickly.”

3. Kia Ceed

At a much more competitive price point, the Kia Ceed is an attractive car that look a lot more expensive than it actually is. It takes just 13 days before being sold on Auto Trader and is popular with city drivers, small families, and commuters. “The Kia Ceed is available with a range of efficient engines, including hybrid options, and has popular safety features such as adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring,” the car experts stated. “The compact model’s user-friendly technology and versatile cargo space combined with its attractive styling and economic advantages promise a quick sale.”
