Beauty shoppers can update their makeup products for only a few pounds thanks to Debenhams latest sale

Any beauty fans looking for an excuse to upgrade their brushes and makeup bags should turn to Debenhams. The retailer is massively reducing hundreds of skincare items in its latest January sale, with prices as low as £7.

One product getting slashed in price is this ‘chic’ 14-piece set of SheOnly makeup brushes. They were originally £38, but they’ve been given a generous 68% discount, meaning shoppers now only need to spend £11.99 to get them.

At a glance, it’s clear why the brushes were so expensive. Their ‘classy’ gold and beige handles create a luxury aesthetic that makes them look more expensive than they really are.

Debenhams’ SheOnly makeup brushes are designed for a seamless, natural look. The set includes brushes that are ideal for foundation, contouring, blending, shading eye makeup, and highlighting.

The store adds: “Whether you are a beginner or a professional, this set provides all the essentials for a polished, complete look”. As it stands, the brushes are yet to receive any reviews on Debehams’ website, so it is hard to know what shoppers who have bought the set think about it.

If you are interested in the brushes, however, it will cost you extra to get them delivered, with prices starting from £2.99. But, if you spend a few pounds more to reach Debenhams’ £15 minimum threshold, you can get your order for free.

If you need a new makeup bag as well, Debenhams is also selling a ‘chic’ option that matches the brushes thanks to its gold and beige design. The store’s Living and Home Large Toiletry Bag Cosmetic Bag Travel Makeup Bag Organiser was £29 but has dropped by 76% down to just £6.99.

Debenhams says the bag is “a fashion-forward accessory that pays homage to the classic and sophisticated style”. It features a large compartment, which can store various skin care products such as moisturisers, face serums, and cleansers. Plus, there are two pockets to keep your items neatly separated.

In the reviews, one pleased shopper wrote: “Lovely toiletry bag. Nice size for what I need and I’m happy with it.” Another claimed: “This is nice, was on offer, did keep it, but did find it on another site even cheaper.”

A third, who seemingly bought the bag for Christmas, said: “Nice looking toiletry bag – bought as a stocking filler for granddaughter.” However, not everyone was in agreement. One customer didn’t seem too impressed, writing: “Just ok – but good for price. Does what it says on the tin.” Another stated: “Very poor quality.”

If you’re after a more colourful set of makeup brushes, Debenhams has also slashed the price of SheOnly’s 14-piece Sprout-Green Professional Makeup Brush Set – tumbling down from £49.94 to £11.99.

Unlike the gold and beige set, this green set includes a non-latex beauty sponge with an egg shape and a soft makeup puff, to ensure “cosmetics are applied evenly to your skin”. It also comes with a white makeup bucket to keep the brushes neatly stored in one place.

Shoppers have given the £11.99 set 4.4 stars out of five. In the reviews, one wrote: “Really nice compact case and and a good choice of brushes. Excellent value for money.”

A second put: “This is a lovely product in a very useful attractive storage case.” A third stated: “Really nice brushes very soft bristles would buy again.” Monika added: “Value for money, good brushes. Love the case. Nicely packed. The case protects from dust etc., hence easy to store and travel with.”

However, one disgruntled customer put: “Looks nice, but very bad smell, just waste my money.” Again, if you buy the brushes on their own, you will need to pay extra for the delivery fee, unless you add something else to your basket which brings to total up to £15.

Besides Debenhams, many other retailers are selling various makeup brushes and bags for people looking to update their beauty routine for the new year. At Amazon, you can get this 18-piece makeup brush set, with a matching storage pouch, for only £9.99.

Customers have given the set 4.5 stars out of five from more than 9,000 buyers. Customers find the cosmetic set offers good value for money and they appreciate the softness and variety of brushes.

At Marks and Spencer, there’s a ‘stylish’ cherry patterned toiletry bag available by Nobody’s Child for £25. It even comes with the brand’s popular Goddess Lip Balm.

At Boots, there’s Real Techniques’ Midnight Mood Brush and Cleanse Set on sale for £30 – it was £60. The brush and bag combo boasts glowing a customer rating of 4.8 out of five stars.
