Pop legend and dad-of-four Robbie Williams, 51, left people welling up on Mother’s Day after previously detailing how his mother Janet has been diagnosed with dementia
Ayda Field say she was left uncontrollable after reading Robbie Williams’ emotional Mother’s Day message.
The singing star told late last year how his mother Janet has been diagnosed with dementia, while his father Pete battles Parkinson’s disease. Ayda and Robbie share four children and are proud parents to Theodora Rose, 12, who they call Teddy, Charlie, 10, six-year-old Coco, and Beau, 4.
The 51-year-old’s love of his mum – and of course his kids’ mother – saw the pop legend put together a sweet post which was a clear nod to both Ayda and Janet. Robbie didn’t just leave fans in fears as his wife admitted it was all too much after she woke up to the tribute on Sunday morning.
To all the mothers out there – For the ones holding it all together. For those raising children, raising themselves, For those navigating joy, exhaustion, love, doubt, and everything in between. You are the quiet strength, the deep well of love, the everyday magic that keeps life turning gently forward.
“Whether you’re a mother in the traditional sense, a mother in spirit, or someone who has mothered others through kindness and care. You matter deeply. I see you. And I thank you. Without you none of this makes sense or matters.” He signed it off saying: “Happy Mother’s Day. With love and respect, Rob x”.
Ayda, 45, was taken aback and responded: “I just woke up and read my hubby’s Mother’s Day post to me. I instantly began to cry. Happy tears. Profound tears. Grateful tears. And everything in between. Thank you Boo. All of me sees all of you back. And I’m one lucky gal. To all the mummies out there, you are all Herculean and have my utmost respect. Now, I’m gonna get busy and spend the rest of my day hanging in my bed with my wolf pack.”
Robbie said before Christmas that he is struggling to deal with his parents being ill. In December he spoke for the first time about Janet’s illness, opening up as he promoted his new film Better Man he told how it depicts his loving relationship with his late grandmother who has dementia in the film.
He said: “The truth is that I’m very busy and I’m not dealing with the situation as I should. I don’t really know how to do it, it’s an incredibly complicated thing. But I prefer not to go into details… You know, if I say something, they might read it, and then I would have to answer a lot of questions. Let’s put it this way: we are all human beings, with our difficulties, and I am trying to deal with mine.”
Speaking about his dad’s diagnosis in 2020 during Lockdown for covid, Robbie said: “We’ve got a lot of family issues right now, my dad has got Parkinson’s, my mother-in-law who I love dearly has got a very big illness, we can’t get to them.
“My dad is thousands and thousands of miles away. My mum is just a year short of 80 and she’s in isolation and I can see the things whirling in her mind and her eyes going. We have a brand new baby Beau, four children in total.”
