Coleen Rooney has said that her Wagatha Christie legal battle is ‘in the past’, despite her lawyers appearing in court this week over a costs appeal from Rebekah Vardy

Coleen Rooney’s lawyers may still be battling it out against Rebekah Vardy’s as their infamous Wagatha Christie trial rumbles on in a cost appeal, but the Liverpudlian star says it’s firmly in the past for her. “Do you know what, it’s one of the things that I don’t really think about now.

“It’s in the past, even though it’s still in court. I did what I did and got the outcome that I deserved. So, I don’t really think about it,” Coleen exclusively tells Mirror. It has been a war of words and lawsuits for the pair after Coleen claimed that Rebekah’s Instagram account had been leaking stories to the media back in 2019, with the feud eventually going to court and resulting in Coleen winning the libel case.

However, Rebekah has now accused Coleen of understating some of her legal costs, leading to their lawyers returning to court this week.

But the 38-year-old, who has recently launched her Applied Nutrition supplement range in Holland and Barrett, admits that the trial is far behind her as she enjoys life at home with husband Wayne and their four sons.

And that includes intimate date nights with the former footballer, as Coleen explains: “Wayne and I have always tried to have quality time together. Even if it’s just a takeaway or when the kids are in bed, we try. I like date nights, it doesn’t happen all of the time but when we can. I think it’s important in a relationship.”

There’s even more time for date nights now that Wayne, who stepped down from managing Plymouth Argyle in December, is working closer to home as a pundit for Amazon Prime Video. “It’s great having Wayne home now, and he’s happiest when he’s at home. For the kids, it’s good because it’s not just me on the side-lines now or at parents’ evening! He’s doing a lot of that now, which makes the kids happy,” says Coleen.

Admitting that’s not always been the case for the family unit, she says at times Wayne’s career – which has seen him play for clubs from nearby Manchester United to US team D.C United – has left her feeling like a solo parent. “At times it can feel like you’re a single parent just because you do spend a lot of time apart. When we moved to America, it was me and the four kids – Wayne would go away for football and could be away all week.

“So, you have to do everything alone. When Wayne was playing, I’d always plan the week as if he wasn’t going to be there because you could never rely on whether he was going to be there for school pickups and things like that – football can be so unpredictable.”

The couple’s four children; Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, nine, and Cass, seven, are hoping to follow their dad’s footsteps with a career in sports, something Coleen says she’s got plenty of advice for them on. “If you ask them all what they would like to be when they’re older, 3 of them would say footballer, one of them would say a darts player. I tell them to keep up with schoolwork and have a backup plan if it doesn’t happen. But I’d love for it to work out for them and for them to work in football in some way.”

Assuring that she isn’t worried about them potentially going into such a high profile career, Coleen explains: “You worry about your kids no matter what career path they go down, so I wouldn’t say just because they went down the football route I’d be worried. I’d give them loads of advice and make sure they’re prepared, but the clubs do that too.”

While the Rooney brood are used to their dad taking the front seat on work-life balance, Coleen has had a busy schedule this year as she has launched her Applied Nutrition supplements range in Holland and Barrett. Talking about the range, Coleen shared: “I didn’t realise how many people don’t take supplements, I’ve always taken supplements from when I was a kid, my dad was always giving us multivitamins and was really health conscious.

“So, I’ve been educated from a young age in what supplements to take and I’ve always had collagen in my daily routine. That is how the relationship with Applied Nutrition started – I used their tubs of collagen before I worked with them and when they asked me to come on board, I knew the brand.”

Citing her years of collagen use as the reason for her glowing skin during her I’m A Celeb stint last year – something Coleen says she did ‘as something for me’ – she continues: “I take my collagen in a mug of warm water every morning, it’s my favourite. When I was making my range, the single packs of collagen was something that I really wanted to put in because they’re much more convenient for people to take out with them.

“Then there’s the hydration sticks, which I put in a water bottle and I’ll take that to the gym. The debloat and immunity ones I take when I feel I need them, I like the immunity packets for when I’m travelling. And then I love my sleep sachets too, I have those in the evening and Wayne will have that with me – he loves the honey flavoured sachets. I actually have a little makeup bag of supplement sachets whenever I go out, I usually end up handing them out to people I bump into!”

Coleen Rooney x Applied Nutrition is available exclusively at Holland & Barrett. Holland & Barrett has 25% off the full range until 29th April.
