A 16-year-old boy died last night after emergency services rushed to a popular leisure spot.

An air ambulance was deployed to the Barry Island Pleasure Park in Barry, the Vale of Glamorgan, in south Wales on Friday night, the start of the bank holiday weekend and school half-term for many.

Following a massive emergency operation, which began at around 5.15pm, South Wales Police confirmed the teenager experienced a “medical episode” and, despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was declared dead at the scene.
