Shoppers were thrilled to spot an affordable alternative at B&M – but many were quick to warn others about what ditching the big brand actually costs
B&M shoppers don’t have to break their budget for some classy-looking ways to spruce up their homes. But, a few customers warned that saving money is where their joy ended.
One shopper (@Yazmoore) claimed that “B&M has done it again” before heading to the store to search for the viral candles. They look very similar to high-end brand Neom – but without the expensive price tag.
People could spend close to £40 on single wicked candles, while B&M’s budget Nomi range is priced at just £5 a jar. Yaz urged people to “get down to B&M” as the retailer had lots to choose from while stocks last.
People were keen to share their thoughts in the comments section. One person said: “Oh, I love these. So cute to have around the house.” Another added: “Wow! It looks identical and it’s only £5! Not everyone wants to spend £££ on a candle so I think this is an affordable alternative.”
Someone else wrote: “I stocked up! They make such nice coffee table candles.” But, not everyone was convinced the alternative was worth the hype. Someone claimed: “The jars look similar, unfortunately that’s where it ends!”
Another commented: “I have Neom candles and diffusers and saw these B&M ones yesterday. Look similar but barely any scent to them, I wouldn’t bother!” A third unhappy shopper warned: “These candles have hardly any scent. Very poor but nice to look at!”
