Dawn Anderson, 64, was visiting Jamaica for her annual winter break when she was reported missing a week after arriving on the island. Her family said they had been left devastated by her disappearance.

A body has been found in the search for a “devoted” British mum-of-three following her disappearance reportedly a week after arriving in Jamaica.

Dawn Anderson, 64, who was reported missing on November 27, is said to have been staying at Hotel 39 in Montego Bay with her 37-year-old husband, Angrea Morrison who has now disappeared.

According to local reports, the body – which has yet to be formally identified – was found buried near her home in Roaring River, Westmoreland, where Dawn was living while visiting the Caribbean Island for her annual winter break.

Speaking to national paper, The Jamaica Gleaner, Westmoreland police said “We didn’t want to disturb any evidence, so we have left a team at the location until tomorrow morning when the body will be exhumed.”

A family source in Westmoreland said: “This is not the news we wanted to hear especially coming up to Christmas. We were hoping that she would be found as she has been missing for a week now. Dawn was such a lovely lady who helped everyone out. We will certainly miss her. She will be missed here on the island Our thoughts are with her children and family now.”

It is understood that Mr Morrison contacted his wife’s daughters in the United Kingdom, telling them that their mum had disappeared after he dropped her off at a beach park in Negril to meet with a client, but that when he returned to pick her up, she was gone.

At the time of Dawn’s disappearance, her daughter Krystal Anderson told the paper that her mother was a “caring, loving family member.” She added that her mother was “devoted” and that they were devastated by her disappearance.

Anderson had made a name for herself by selling clothing on the beaches of Negril, frequently appearing on Morrison’s TikTok page as she showcased her goods.

A murder investigation is now underway.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Jamaica and are in touch with local authorities.”
