Clinique’s hero scent is finally back in stock for the Christmas gifting season, and it’s dropped in price from £61 to a very affordable £20

If you’re looking for a new perfume that will quickly become a signature scent for you, beauty buffs believe they’ve found it in one iconic fragrance that can be snapped up for under £20.

Clinique’s Happy Perfume Spray, currently slashed to £19.90 down from £61 , was originally launched all the way back in 1997 and has been a best-seller for the brand ever since. Sadly, the fragrance went out of stock on Amazon, where you’ll buy it for its cheapest price, but we’re delighted to report it’s now back – just in time for the Christmas gifting season.

With top notes of orange, blood grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot, apple and plum, middle notes of lily-of-the-valley, freesia, orchid and rose, and base notes of mimosa, musk and amber, it combines the best of both citrus and floral scent categories.

Plus, in tests, 97% of people admitted they felt instantly happier after spritzing on the floral/citrus scent.

This clean, citrusy and refreshing fragrance – which you’ll also find in Sephora’s Perfectly Happy Fragrance and Makeup Gift Set, £48.76 down from £65 – is being touted as an instant mood lifter by plenty of shoppers on both Clinique’s website and Amazon. Others note how the gorgeous scent has become a signature fragrance for them over the year – and one that they get complimented on regularly.

One shopper on Clinique’s website says: “I was sitting on a plane next to a woman wearing a perfume that was so fresh and flowery, I just had to ask what it was, and when she told me, I wrote it down so I wouldn’t forget. It was this. As I said, it was light but long-lasting, it lasted the whole of our 11-hour flight, and I kept getting the fragrance of citrus, bergamot, which I love, and mimosa wafting about, it was delightful. needless to say, I bought my own as soon as I could and I’ve been very happy with it.”

“I suffer with irritation if I wear most perfumes on my skin but I have no problems with this one at all. It smells so summery and is the only perfume that lasts on me all day! Everyone notices the fragrance which although lasting is by far from cloying. It is delicate and feminine. It has taken many years and a lot of money to eventually find the right perfume for me. I won’t be changing again,” says a second.

A third writes: “I receive so many compliments when wearing this perfume that I just had to purchase more.”

Though the vast majority of users love the perfume, some say the light and delicate smell doesn’t last as long as they’d like on the skin. “I used to love this classic perfume. Smells nice but the scent doesn’t stay. Wore off after less than 10 minutes,” one pens.

If you’re on the hunt for other summer perfume picks, fragrance enthusiasts are rushing to grab the Estée Lauder Eau de Parfum Youth Dew, with users claiming they’ve been using it for nearly ten years and have “always received compliments”.

The 67ml spray is housed in an ornate gold bow bottle — a pretty addition to any dressing table — and is priced at a fraction of its usual cost. The affordable £19.98 scent boasts an oriental fruity and floral aroma, which has led to people being ‘stopped in the street by both men and women asking what they’re wearing’.
