Molly-Mae Hague invited cameras into her home to document what the past year has really been like for her – but a body language expert has made a ‘discovery’

Love Island icon Molly-Mae Hague recently released the first three parts of her raw documentary series on Amazon Prime Video, much to the delight of her loyal followers. During the programme, aptly named Molly-Mae: Behind It All, the millionaire influencer opens up about motherhood, her break-up with Tommy Fury, and the launch of her clothing business, Maebe.

The 25-year-old came across as stoic while being interviewed by producers about raising her two-year-old daughter, Bambi, following the breakdown of her relationship with the youngster’s father, Tommy, 25. The couple, who fell for each other on the 2019 series of Love Island, announced their split last August – and it sent shockwaves through the showbiz world.

Within the documentary, Molly-Mae gets tearful when she watches a video of boxer Tommy proposing to her in Ibiza, but she appears very composed in most other scenes in which she discusses their five-year relationship. In one episode, she speaks to her mum, Debbie, about how alcohol impacted their romance, telling her she begged Tommy not to drink at her sister’s wedding.

Addressing their split, Tommy told Men’s Health during a recent interview: “The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol, and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore.”

However, body language and behavioural expert Darren Stanton has shared his thoughts on how the businesswoman really feels about her split from Tommy. Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Darren explains a key gesture Molly-Mae makes when speaking about her relationship with Tommy called a ‘steeple gesture’.

He said: “It’s a type of power gesture which suggests she feels quite confident in her ability to repair the relationship.” Does this mean the pair might be getting back together after all?

In addition, Molly-Mae’s response in the documentary to being pictured sharing a New Year’s Eve kiss with Tommy spoke volumes to Darren.

He explained: “I don’t believe that she is surprised by the news of their kiss coming out at all. She makes facial expressions to suggest she can’t believe it; she puts her hands across her face, a gesture of surprise.

“However, she also flashes a smile and shows elation and happiness at the news being out there. She does a hand-to-mouth gesture but smiles while she does it. [It’s] not the body language of someone who is truly in disbelief and shock. She tries to convey shock but is happy it is out there.”

He added: “I don’t see any signs of stress, she puts her hands across her face, but if you slow it down, it’s actually a big smile there. She’s almost giving this expression of being elated that the kiss got out. She’s not showing any signs of stress or sadness. It’s more one of genuine happiness.”

The final three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All will air this spring on Amazon Prime Video on a date yet to be confirmed. The first three instalments are now available to stream on the platform.
