A British national was subjected to the horrific attack at a hotel in Mahipalpur, South West Delhi, on Thursday – before cops arrested a man and a member of the hotel’s housekeeping staff

A British woman has been subjected to a horrific rape at a hotel in India – before being sexually assaulted just minutes later.

The victim, 36, was subjected to the horrific attack at a hotel in Mahipalpur, South West Delhi, on Thursday, near Indira Gandhi International Airport. Police then arrested a man, referred to as Kailash and a member of the hotel’s housekeeping staff, named as Wasim. According to police, the victim said she met Kailash on social media in February.

The pair began talking regularly, and she decided to visit India to meet him in person. After arriving in India on March 7, the victim travelled to Goa before reaching Delhi on March 11. The woman reported that Kailash had difficulty communicating in English and had to rely on Google Translate to interact with her.

Local reports claim authorities were alerted to the situation between 5am and 6am in the morning when they received a PCR call from a local hospital. The victim bravely recounted the traumatic experience to a team from the nearby police station on arrival at hospital.

During the horror attack the victim briefly left the room, and it was during this time that a member of the hotel’s housekeeping staff allegedly assaulted her, as reported by the police.

Kailash, a 25-year-old man who has completed 12th grade and is currently unemployed, has been linked to the victim through messages discovered by the police. In compliance with Supreme Court directives regarding assault cases, the victim’s identity has been kept confidential to safeguard her privacy.

The Brit woman lodged a formal complaint at the Vasant Kunj police station the next day of the assault. Authorities have informed the British High Commission about the incident as per standard procedure, and they are providing assistance to the UK national.
