Brits were calling for McDonald’s to bring back one of its iconic menu items after spotting it on offer in restaurants in Tenerife, Spain, alongside other items we don’t get in the UK – and they got their wish

Brits have been left stunned by what’s on offer at McDonald’s in Tenerife, Spain.

TikTok user @theknightstrider1, who is based in Tenerife, recently uploaded a video showcasing what the menu looks like at one of the island’s McDonald’s restaurants.

The breakfast menu featured various sweet treats and pastries not available in the UK, including two flavours of “McDalena” muffins. There were also “Mini Cronuts”, a French pastry that resembles a donut, as well as “McPops” mini donuts with various fillings. The breakfast menu featured the classic sausage and bacon McMuffin options too.

The dessert options included Milkybar and Biscoff McFlurries as well as various new “mad cool” flavours. There were also several flavours of ice cream sundae, as well as more standard options such as the classic apple pie.

Another “new” addition was the McRib, featured on the main menu. The much-loved sandwich last appeared at McDonald’s restaurants in the UK back in 2015 and quickly became a fan favourite. McDonald’s finally confirmed it was returning to the UK earlier this week!

The TikTok user also highlighted the “Triple Chicken Mayo” burger as a favourite among British tourists in Tenerife. It’s exactly as it sounds – a standard chicken mayo burger with three, rather than one, pieces of breaded chicken.

There was one menu item in particular that caught the eye of those who commented on the video. One person said: “Omg the McRib, bring it back to the UK McDonald’s.” Little did they know McDonald’s would make the announcement a few days after their comment was posted.

But that wasn’t all people were raving about. A second said: “Omg the mcpops are amazing.” And a third commented: “Miss the sundae ice creams.”

Others suggested that even the menu items that we do have in the UK taste better in Spain, with another commenter saying: “Had the sausage McMuffin when I went and I thought it was sooo much nicer than the ones in the UK, so much fresher not greasy… shame they don’t do hash browns just had wedges instead.”
