Caitlin Clark is set to tee it up with the world No. 1 in next week’s LPGA Tour Pro-Am, with the Golf Channel opting to expand their broadcast in light of the news
The LPGA and Golf Channel are set to ramp up their coverage for next week’s Annika Driven By Gainbridge event, with WNBA star Caitlin Clark taking part in the Pro-Am.
The ‘Golf Today’ show on Golf Channel will kick off 90 minutes earlier than usual on the Wednesday of tournament week, featuring live snippets from the Pro-Am event, where Clark’s participation is drawing significant interest.
Not only will the Indiana Fever player be hitting the greens, but she’ll do so alongside the world’s top-ranked female golfer, Nelly Korda. The two big names, Clark and Korda, will play together, with the broadcast including coverage of Clark’s pre-tournament warm-up and an in-round interview.
Clark has openly expressed her passion for golf, even hinting at a professional career in the sport during the WNBA offseason. “I’m going to play some golf, that is what I am going to do until it gets cold,” she told reporters in September.
“So that could help me become a professional golfer,” she added, grinning. Now, Clark will have the opportunity to display her golf skills alongside the world’s best players in next week’s Pro-Am event. As expected, the Fever star is eager to show her fans what she’s capable of.
Golf enthusiast Clark is thrilled about playing in the pro-am of a tournament named after golfing icon Annika Sorenstam. “I love golf so the opportunity to play in the pro-am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting,” she gushed. Clark is also eager to mingle with LPGA stars, participate in the Women’s Leadership Summit, and hit the links with Sorenstam herself.
Clark isn’t new to rubbing shoulders with top-tier players; she previously took part in the John Deere Classic Pro-Am on the PGA Tour in 2023. There, the WNBA Rookie of The Year shared the green with former U.S. Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson and world No. 4 Ludvig Aberg.

Aberg teamed up with Clark for the front nine and was all praises, saying, “She’s a rock star,” while admitting, “I was just a passenger today. It was really cool.”
Clark, expressing her passion for golf once more, said: “Not many people have this opportunity, and to do it essentially 45 minutes from where I play basketball is pretty cool,” She added, “I’m a big fan of golf. I love to play it and be around it. I think it’s just really fun. Every Sunday, I usually have the TV on and I am watching [the PGA Tour].”
“More than anything else, this was about enjoying the experience,” she said regarding her participation inside the ropes on Wednesday. “It’s just cool getting to interact with the young kids who were here today. I was trying to make as much time as I could to sign an autograph, or give them a ball or a high five because that goes a long way.”
