Celebrity Big Brother housemate Mickey Rourke’s departure from the house was broadcast tonight on the ITV show following the news that he had left earlier this weekend

Fans of Celebrity Big Brother weren’t impressed with companion show Late & Live following Mickey Rourke’s departure. It had been announced earlier this week that he had left the house following “unacceptable behaviour”.

Actor Mickey, 72, entered the Big Brother house on Monday night alongside twelve other housemates. Since then, some of his behaviour on the show has been met with criticism and he was asked to leave the house yesterday. The situation unfolded on tonight’s episode, which included a scene of the other housemates being told that he had left.

Following the episode, co-host Will Best fronted the latest episode of companion show Late & Live from the garden of the Big Brother house tonight. There was discussion about Mickey’s behaviour towards the start of the episode and then a ‘best bits’ montage of Mickey was showcased.

Will said beforehand: “He had a few highs and a lot of lows.” The montage include various moments from Mickey’s days-long stint in the Big Brother house, including referencing some controversies.

Some viewers weren’t impressed though. One wrote on X: “Why did Mickey Rourke get a best bits montage??” Another said: “Why did Mickey even get a best bits? You shouldn’t get that if you’re removed.” A third said: “Why are they giving Mickey a best bits segment after he got removed for being abysmal may I ask?”

Another fan wrote: “Not them still giving Mickey a best bits compilation pls.” Sharing their thoughts, one viewer questioned: “Sorry why is Mickey getting a best bits package.” Another said: “This is awkward. They’re showing Mickey’s ‘best bits’ while he’s not here cause he got booted out.”

Prior to tonight’s episode, it had been announced that Mickey had “agreed” to leave the Big Brother house following “unacceptable behaviour”. He’d previously been given a “formal warning” over “offensive and unacceptable” language – for which he apologised to JoJo Siwa earlier this week.

Mickey’s departure was announced by a spokesperson for the show last night. “[He’s] agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour,” they said at the time.

Further details of the lead up to his departure – which comes after he was saved from the first eviction on Friday – were then shared by ITV ahead of tonight’s episode. It said he was called out by Big Brother over a disagreement with a housemate as well as over “inappropriate sexual language”. Mickey apologised in the episode and was asked to leave the house.

In the episode, Big Brother spoke to Mickey over a confrontation with Chris Hughes during a task this weekend, with the actor’s language and behaviour described as “threatening and aggressive”. Big Brother also told Mickey that he had used “inappropriate sexual language” to Ella Rae Wise recently.

Mickey – who is known for his roles in films like the Wrestler (2008) – apologised in the discussion with Big Brother this weekend. He was asked to leave the house following his “seriously unacceptable” behaviour, the spoilers revealed.

Tonight’s episode marks the end of the first week of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, which launched on Monday. Thirteen celebrities had entered the house and now eleven remain following Mickey’s departure and politician Michael Fabricant having become the first evicted housemate.

Earlier today, host Will shared his thoughts on this year’s housemates ahead of the latest episode. He revealed his three favourites and then teased that he would be open to living with “almost” all of the celebrity housemates.

In a video on Instagram, he named dancer JoJo, drag artist Danny Beard and comedian Donna Preston as his “top three” housemates at the moment. Among his compliments, Will said that JoJo is “lovely,” that Danny brings “realness” to the show and that Donna is “absolutely bloody hilarious”.

He went on to suggest that he would live with most of this year’s housemates, saying: “So those are my three. I’d live with … almost all of them though.” Although he didn’t name anyone in particular, he then teased over his feelings before taking a sip from his drink, with him reiterating: “Almost.”
