Danny Beard left his Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes completely speechless after he gave the former Love Island star a very dramatic makeover
Chris Hughes has unveiled a jaw-dropping new look thanks to the talents of Celebrity Big Brother co-star Danny Beard. The two formed a close bond during their time in the house last month, and that friendship is now being maintained in the real world.
The pals paired up in a new episode of Boys In Beat for the KLOSS Community, where drag artist Danny, 32, gave Chris, also 32, a full glam transformation. Danny used their signature white drag makeup to turn the former Love Island star into a vision of camp beauty. As Danny contoured Chris’ face, the pair reflected on their shared time inside the CBB house.
Chris, who finished sixth in the final while Danny went on to be runner-up behind Jack P Shepherd, admitted he was “a barrel of nerves” on launch night.
“I walked in with all those big names — Mickey Rourke, Trisha Goddard, Chesney Hawkes — and I just thought, ‘What am I doing here?’” he said, laughing.
But for Danny, the real test came in the days after moving in. They shared: “Daley [Thompson] gave me this look when I walked in, and I instantly thought he hated me. He made a comment — ‘It’s not all about you’ — and I just sort of went in on myself.”
Chris responded gently: “So that does affect you?” Danny nodded. “Yeah, because I don’t ever fully trust straight men,” they admitted. “That’s something I had to confront in there.
“But the biggest thing I learned was that if you give people five minutes — just five minutes — you realise you’ve got more in common than you thought.”
Danny went on to speak openly about what it was like for them growing up queer in a world that didn’t always accept them. They shared: “When I was four or five, kids would say I sounded like a girl. That stuck with me.
“And when I realised I was gay, I was so angry. I thought the people who called me gay had made me gay. It took years to untangle all that.
“I remember telling my mum I didn’t want to be here anymore when I was a kid. I know that’s deep, sorry. But it’s the truth. People don’t realise how those words stick. Even now, people still stare. My boyfriend catches them all the time — lads, full groups of them. I’m very visibly gay, and some people don’t like that.”
Although the pair covered some heavy topics, they ended the video on a high by pranking one of their other CBB co-stars on FaceTime. The newly glammed-up Chris and Danny decided to ring fellow housemate Donna Preston to show off the final look.
She burst out laughing, convinced she was looking at Danny in drag, not Chris. The friends also considered calling JoJo Siwa, but decided against it when they remembered she is in a different time zone and likely would have been asleep.
