A viral video explains why you should be looking at Dior’s beauty section for a new designer bag

If you’ve ever dreamed about owning a Dior bag without the Dior price tag, a viral beauty hack is making waves this week, and it just might let you score a mini clutch for £66. The trick is to pick up Dior’s limited-edition holiday beauty sets, which include pouches that are essentially handbags in disguise.

Though Dior’s beauty offerings are in-demand every Christmas run-up, more people are now cluing into just how good they are thanks to TikToker Wendy, aka @itswendiesworld, who explains in a video how Dior’s seasonal gift sets come with a luxe pouch decked out in the brand’s CD initials, leading followers to quickly realised the real gem is the accessory, not just the beauty offerings inside.

Our favourite pick from the festive range is the Pink Glow Christmas Gift Set, £66, which includes the iconic Dior Addict Lip Glow and a Plumping Gloss. The pouch that houses them is the mini bag everyone’s now talking about, complete with luxe gold fabric and star accessories.

There’s also a more premium Skincare and Makeup Gift Set version, £87, with a slightly bigger pouch, if your budget stretches that far. Of course, there’s a catch. These gift sets are limited edition and only available while stocks last during the lead-up to Christmas. That means if you want in, you need to act fast.

What makes this hack feel more than just a clever sale trick is how the pouches are designed. They’re not throw-in freebies, they’re fully reusable, with structure, branding and aesthetics. Many are now being styled as evening clutches or even casual cross-body bags, elevating what might historically be a make-up bag into a fashion item.

Naturally, reactions online have ranged from delighted to surprised. In comment threads, shoppers asked if the pouch comes boxed – “It came in the box with ribbon, better than some designer bags” – while others replied: “Not me rushing to the website to order this,” or simply: “The prettiest bag.”

This clever hack isn’t entirely new, since people have long repurposed beauty pouches and gift-with-purchase items into chic mini bags. Some DIYers have even turned cosmetic cases into shoulder bags with hardware additions. But we have to admit, this is one of our favourite tricks of the season.

Away from Dior, you can use this trick on Lancôme’s Beauty Box Gift Set (Worth £341 but £90 on Next) to score yourself a large make-up bag you can use for all of your beauty products.
