WAG and TV star Coleen Rooney made a sensational post back in 2019 on social media that kicked off her Wagatha Christie drama with Rebekah Vardy
Coleen Rooney stunned the showbiz world when she sensationally issued a post accusing Rebekah Vardy’s Instagram account of leaking stories that lead to their clash in court.
The WAG and TV star, 38, is set to reveal all of her Wagatha Christie drama after signing for ITV’s flagship I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. She has reportedly gained a record fee for her stint in the jungle as bosses hope she spills on her clash with Rebekah and her husband Wayne.
Coleen will head out to Australia next month and will take part in the famous Bushtucker Trials as she competes to earn stars in order to feed her campmates. Rebekah, the wife of Jamie Vardy previously competed on the programme back in 2017 and was the third campmate to be booted out and sent back home.
In October 2019, Coleen made her sensational accusation that Rebekah had been selling stories about her. Her now famous post on Twitter (X) read: “This has been a burden in my life for a few years now and finally I have got to the bottom of it……” She then added a screenshot of a note with full details of her allegation.
She wrote: “For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing THE SUN newspaper of my private posts and stories. There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and my family – all without my permission or knowledge. After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.
“To try and prove this, I cam up with an idea. I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account. (Those on my private account must have been wondering why I haven’t had stories on there for a while.) Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see if the made their way into the Sun newspaper. And you know what, they did! The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flooding in my new house.
“It’s been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to. Now I know for certain with account / individual it’s come from. I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It’s ……….Rebekah Vardy’s account.” Rebekah continually denied being the person responsible for leaking the content.
Her post kicked off a libel court case with Rebekah, who was ordered to pay 90 per cent of Coleen’s legal fees after she lost the infamous 2020 libel case. This week, Rebekah was ordered to pay Coleen a further £100,000 following their high-profile libel battle ahead of the full amount owed being decided.
Sharing more of her stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, a TV source told the Sunday Mirror : “She’s in the jungle and she’s going to set the record straight on Wagatha. This is a major coup For ITV. The kids are growing up now. The time is right for Coleen. She’s got the potential to go all the way and win this.”
