This week, Daniel was on This Morning to discuss the storyline. He reminded viewers that “60 percent of people diagnosed with MND do sadly die within the first 18 months”.

He added that the reaction from the MND community has been “phenomenal”. He explained that he also had a personal connection with the disease following the death of his grandfather with MND. “[It was] a very personal story to tell, which of course the producers didn;t know when it was pitched to us.” he said “They had no idea of my connection, so it’s felt a very important story to tell. My family have obviously been through it.”

Daniel shared a clip of the interview with presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, which received a great response from some of his followers. “He’s just incredible,” one person said. Another added: “You did an awesome job on coronation street you always nail the storylines.”
