Adam Britton admitted 63 charges which included animal abuse, possessing child abuse material and bestialities which were carried out on the inside a shipping container last year

A British crocodile expert who raped, tortured and killed dogs, said he stripped naked and abused his own pets for the first time after a huge fight with his ex-wife, psychology reports reveal.

Adam Britton admitted 63 charges which included animal abuse, possessing child abuse material and bestialities which were carried out on the inside a shipping container last year. Sick footage which he had taken himself showed him raping, torturing and killing dogs. He was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in Australia, for the abhorrent attacks.

The 53-year-old was born in West Yorkshire and has a zoology degree from the University of Leeds and a PhD from the University of Bristol. He had managed to keep his crimes hidden until police received a tip-off about his disgusting activities.

Over two years, Britton managed to get 42 dogs from Gumtree before he brutally tortured them. He often took pets from unsuspecting families who were unable to keep their dogs.

Britton once described watching children cry as he walked away with their dogs. These animals were tortured, raped or killed at his home and a shipping container on his property where he also abused his two white Swiss Shepherds, Ursa and Bolt.

He even posted the footage on Telegram to other abusers. In one message, he wrote: “I had repressed it. In the last few years I let it out again and now I can’t stop. I don’t want to.”

In 2022, police raided the McMinns Lagoon property, near Darwin, that he shared with his biologist ex-wife, Erin, who spent a lot of time away for work and had no idea what he was doing.

In comprehensive psychological reports since obtained by Daily Mail Australia, details on his childhood sexual assault, the complete breakdown of his marriage, his descent into zoosadism, and he relief he felt once police caught him, are revealed.

The reports, which were written by forensic psychologists between January and July, also reveal what Erin said when she visited him in custody, how he was punched in the head over Christmas and how other inmates throw stones at him behind bars.

The 53-year-old told experts that despite being particularly interested in animals from a young age, it wasn’t until he was sexually assaulted on a school trip that the interests ramped up.

Speaking in the reports, Britton said: “All I can remember is that I didn’t want to be a person anymore. I wanted to be an animal. I wanted to be away from all of this.”

Britton confided that he wanted to turn into a horse and fell in love with the animals. He would sneak into horse paddocks near his parents’ house to hug them, eat their hair and saliva.

He added: “I thought that would incorporate into my body and I would become a horse. I hadn’t gotten to that point in my schooling about DNA. This is what I wanted.”

The reports later revealed that later in life after meeting ex-wife Erin, his fantasies became sexual. After a blazing row, Erin left the property and Britton said he ran outside and began rolling in mud naked like he was an animal.

When his two Swiss Shepherds ran over to see what he was doing, Britton said he felt something ‘click’ in his mind and liked the idea of himself as an animal as they unknowingly performed sex acts on him.

He later did it again and eventually incorporated bestiality into his everyday life while his ex-wife was away.

According to Britton, when Erin later visited him in prison, she told him: ‘I could have accepted the zoophile’ … I can’t accept the animal cruelty.’ She later ended their marriage.

Britton told experts he would like to atone for his actions, after being released from prison, by helping animals. Justice Grant banned him from owning a mammal for the remainder of his natural life.
