David Beckham’s latest tattoo shows a pair of hands clapped together praying. Tattoo artist Certified Letter Boy shared photos of the ex-footballer’s latest inking on Instagram

David Beckham has added a new religious tattoo to his impressive collection, bringing the total to over 70.

The former England footballer enlisted the help of celebrity tattoo artist, Certified Letter Boy, for his latest inking. The artist, who describes himself as “London’s most sought-after tattooist”, is a family favourite and has previously tattooed David’s sons Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo.

Other celebrities who have got tattoos from Certified Letter Boy include Lioness Beth Mead, model Kyia Bobbi and singer Louis Tomlinson. The artist unveiled the father-of-four’s latest tattoo on Instagram on Wednesday.

The inking, under David’s knee, shows a pair of hands clapped together praying. The artist wrote: “New tattoo for @davidbeckham. Thank you for the trust, DB.” The ex-footballer’s son Cruz seemed excited at his dad’s new piece of body art as he commented with a gif of a little girl eating a cake. The tattoo artist, whose real name is Pablo, responded to the comment, tagging him and writing: “My man.”

Many fans praised the artist for his latest job as one wrote: “The biggest goal. Well deserved man.” One more wrote: “Massive.” And another said: “You deserve everything and more pabz.”

David started getting inked when he became a dad in 1999 and had his son Brooklyn’s name written in gothic script across his lower back. That same year, he also got the number tattooed on his little finger to mark the year he married his wife, Victoria Beckham. He also has his wife’s name tattooed on his right hand.

Other tattoos include his daughter Harper’s name on his chest and above it the writing “Pretty Lady” to celebrate her fourth birthday, as well as tattoos for his sons Romeo and Cruz. His latest tattoo, showing praying hands, is not the first religious inking David has.

He also has a portrait of him as Jesus being lifted out of his tomb by three baby angels, known as cherubs. He got this tattoo one in 2010, describing his boys as “three cherubs”, who will need to “look after me” at some point.

Back in 2016, David said in a Biotherm Homme advert: “The story of my life is written on my skin. Don’t expect to read it on my face.” His sons have followed in his footsteps, especially Brooklyn who is estimated to have 100 tattoos – 70 of them dedicated to his wife Nicola Peltz.

One of Brooklyn’s tattoos represents his wedding vows reading: “Nicola when you walked down the aisle you took my breath away you look so beautiful tonight and always. Let me start by saying that words cannot even describe my love for you just looking at you I see my future and it feels like a dream. You are my world and I continue to fall more in love with you every single day.”
