David Beckham got into the festive spirit by collaborating with a kitchen appliance brand for a holiday-themed advertisement

David Beckham fans were quick to slam a Christmas advertisement he was in after they ‘noticed’ a worrying detail.

The football icon, 49, collaborated with Ninja UK for a holiday advert featuring their best kitchen appliances, including a wood-fired oven, an air fryer and a coffee machine. In the advert, David rocked his best Christmas sweater as he prepared a full festive dinner all on his own.

At one point, he was seen cooking a turkey using a wood-fired oven designed for outdoor use. However, fans were confused as they claimed David was using the appliance inside. One user wrote on social media: ” I didn’t think the wood fire oven could be used inside @ninjakitchen??”

“You’re right, he’s outside [hand clapping emoji],” Ninja responded but the fan didn’t back down and told them: “Looks like it’s inside to me.” Another confused user quickly asked the brand: ” @ninjakitchen thought pizza oven was outdoors only…?” to which Ninja confirmed he was using the appliance outside.

According to The Sun, one user on YouTube said they had to report the advert to the Advertising Standards Authority. The Mirror have reached out to his reps for comment. The ASA said to the publication they were “carefully assessing” the complaints claiming the advert was misleading.

The user guide warns people not to use the product inside. It says: “DO NOT use indoors. If used under overhead cover, toxic fumes, including carbon monoxide, may accumulate and cause serious bodily injury or death.” A Ninja spokesperson told the publication: “David Beckham was cooking in an outdoor kitchen during the filming of this advert, in compliance with the Woodfire Outdoor Oven’s usage instructions.

“The advert was cleared by Clearcast before airing.” Meanwhile, David and Victoria had a busy week as they arrived at Buckingham Palace’s state banquet yesterday evening, hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The former England player and his fashion designer wife were invited as guests following Beckham’s role as an ambassador for the World Cup in Qatar. The Emir of Qatar, who is on a two-day visit to the UK, joined the King to deliver speeches in front of dignitaries from both countries in the palace’s grand ballroom.

David has developed a strong bond with the royal family over the years, recently becoming a celebrity ambassador for Charles’s charity The King’s Foundation, with fellow ambassador Sir Rod Stewart teasing him that his knighthood was “coming soon”.
