Davina McCall shared a throwback snap from over thirty years ago as she got ready to bring in the new year
Davina McCall took to social media to share a brilliant throwback image from over three decades ago.
As the Masked Singer judge gets ready to see in the new year, she opted to upload a snap from 1993 to her Instagram Stories. Re-sharing a post from New Year’s Eve 1993, Davina looked stunning in a silky black outfit with her hair slicked back.
She later shared a quote by Paul C Brunson which read: “Have the courage to let go; For who you are becoming will catch you.”
The posts come as Davina continues to recover from brain surgery. The ITV star has been regularly updating her followers since the major operation to remove a colloid cyst, a rare fluid-filled benign tumour in her brain. She first revealed her health scare in November.
Earlie this month, as she made her first public appearance since the op, she broke down in tears. Giving a short speech at a Christmas event for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign charity, she said: “m crying already, that didn’t go well,” she said, stepping on to the stage. “I lost my sis to a brain tumour in 2012,” she continued, before talking about her own diagnosis. She was at the event at All Saints Church, Fulham supporting her neurosurgeon Kevin O’Neill.
Earlier this month the Masked Singer host explained how she worried boyfriend Michael Douglas, 49, as she woke up “confused” after the op – but has since been recovering well. Thanking Kevin on Instagram, she said: “I’m gonna out my surgeon. He is called Kevin O’Neill and he has been amazing. Trying to find somebody who knew about colloid cysts was quite a challenge. Kevin is very experienced as a neurosurgeon. He had done another colloid cyst this year. He has been brilliant. He got the whole thing.”
And she has also revealed she will never have Botox again. As she was treated to a haircut from her partner Michael Douglas for the first time since going under the knife, she shared the intimate snipping session live on Instagram. He explained in the session how he was going to cut his partner’s hair and ran through his techniques with those watching.
As he showed off the scar from Davina’s surgery, he told viewers how she had lost a lot of hair after having children. Michael then said Davina had quite thick hair but there was not as much of it and the TV star admitted that she “used to have lots of hair but I had babies”.
After one fan wrote in the comments that a fringe is cheaper than Botox, she joked: “You are absolutely right. I’ve got lots of wrinkles in my forehead. I mean I can’t and I don’t have Botox. I have had it before, like in my frown lines.”
