Kimberly Burch, who was engaged to Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe, died after falling overboard Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Explorer of the Seas, during a voyage

Grieving family members of the fiancée of Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe are demanding answers over her mysterious death.

Kimberly Burch, 56, fell overboard from a private balcony of Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Explorer of the Seas, on the first night of a seven-day 80s-themed trip. Faster Pussycat had performed for fans on the huge ship, which has a capacity of more than 4,000 people.

Taime, 60, called Kimberley’s mother to notify her of the heartbreaking news on Monday but Kellie Burch, Kimberley’s sister in law, said he hasn’t been heard from since then. Kellie does not believe Kimberley would intentionally harm herself.

But Kellie today declined to answer questions about the couple’s relationship history. Instead, she said: “We just want to know what happened. We just want answers.”

Kimberly is believed to have fallen into the water roughly 20 miles off the shore of Freeport, Bahamas, a US Coast Guard spokesperson said. The search to find her body continues. The Royal Caribbean Group says it is providing support and assistance to the family during this difficult time.

Describing her sister in law, Kellie told Mail Online she was “the life of the party and the light of the room”. She added: “All we want is answers… She was the life of the party and the light of the room.

“I last heard from her about a week ago […] she was looking forward to the trip. We are doing as well as we possibly can be while we wait.”

Kimberly had embarked on the seven-day nostalgia-themed trip to support Downe, who was due to perform with his famed glam metal band, Faster Pussycat, alongside other iconic ‘80s acts Squeeze, Adam Ant, and Men at Work.

The cruise set sail from Miami on Sunday with scheduled stops in Nassau, San Juan, and Labadee, but it is said the tragedy late happened on the first night.

In an earlier statement, the cruise company said it was “providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this time.” It added: “To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”
