Disney Cruise Line is set to welcome the Disney Destiny to its fleet in November 2025 and it will have an epic ‘heroes and villains’ theme with nods to characters from Marvel, Pixar and the Disney Parks
Disney fans looking for their next adventure may want to consider adding cruise holidays to their bucket lists, as Disney Cruise Line is set to launch its highly-anticipated new ‘heroes and villains’ themed ship.
When the Disney Destiny sets sail in November 20, 2025, she’ll be able to hold up to 4,000 passengers across 1,254 staterooms. The impressive ship boasts a gross tonnage of 144,000, and measures approximately 1,119ft long.
Holidaymakers can expect themed restaurants (including immersive Marvel and Lion King venues), epic bars inspired by popular theme park attractions Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, and heaps of entertainment including a water slide, a brand new Hercules show, fireworks at sea, deck parties, and of course heaps of opportunity to mingle with characters from franchises including Marvel and Pixar.
The Destiny is the latest in the cruise line’s Wish class cruise ships; the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure are already part of the fleet, and another name-yet-to-be-revealed ship is expected to sail in 2027.
In the meantime, we take a look at the biggest highlights that Mickey Mouse fans can expect when they step onboard…
The food
Disney Destiny will boast a number of themed bars for fans, including some adult-only venues, inspired by everything from Cruella De Vil to Doctor Strange, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion and the Lion King.
A brand new experience will be ‘Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King’. Families will be able to watch an immersive show while they tuck into a themed menu, with storytellers and live musicians retelling Simba’s story from cub to king.

Another themed dining venue that’s sure to be a hit will be ‘Worlds of Marvel’, another immersive experience for families to enjoy while they tuck into superhero-inspired dishes, complete with appearances from Rocket and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Meanwhile the 1923 restaurant will offer a fascinating glimpse into the legacy of Disney animation with more than 1,000 drawings, props and other tools adorning the restaurant.
Oh, and for those with a sweet tooth there’s an onboard ice cream parlour inspired by The Incredibles’ Edna Mode.
The bars
There are two bars onboard that celebrate iconic attractions from the Disney theme parks. The first is the Cask & Cannon, a pub inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean with themed drinks, and heaps of Easter eggs and hidden details for holidaymakers to look out for. Meanwhile those who are brave enough can step into the Haunted Mansion Parlour for a spooky tipple!
Disney cruise ships have adults-only areas, and on the Destiny this will play host to De Vil’s, a bar which pays tribute to – well, you guessed it – Cruella De Vil.
As for Marvel fans, don’t worry, you haven’t been forgotten. The Sanctum will be an adults-only lounge inspired by Doctor Strange with plenty of props and artefacts to fully immerse you into the iconic story.
The entertainment
A ship with SEVEN pools, a huge theatre, deck parties (including a pirates themed night), fireworks at sea, a cinema showcasing Disney films, numerous kids’ clubs and a water ride won’t have passengers twiddling their thumbs.
The ship’s theatre will play host to various different shows including a brand new Hercules show, with concept art showcasing what looks like impressive puppetry and special effects to bring the story to life. (There will be plenty of nods to Hercules throughout the ship too from Café Megara to rooms with artwork celebrating the hero).
Passengers can also try out Disney Uncharted Adventure, an interactive experience that uses their phones to go on virtual quests throughout the ships.
One highlight that’s sure to be popular is the AquaMouse water slide, where you’ll be able to sit in a rubber ring and ride the thrilling water attraction, while joining Mickey and Minnie on a trip to Villain Mountain, complete with a ‘silly song’ to boost their spirits!
Speaking of villains, there will be plenty of opportunities for holidaymakers to interact with characters, from designated meet and greet spots, to interactions with the likes of Cruella de Vil, Dr. Facilier, Maleficent and Loki.
The itineraries
For those who can tear themselves away from the ship, some sun-soaked itineraries await. Disney Destiny will sail on her maiden voyage in November 2025 from Fort Lauderdale in Florida, followed by an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean, complete with stops at Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
