Elljson DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi recently moved to the Cotswolds and were seen enjoying a night out at Jeremy Clarkson’s newly opened pub The Farmer’s Dog

Ellen DeGeneres, the former queen of daytime TV, has swapped her Hollywood digs for a slice of British country life in the Cotswolds. Alongside her wife Portia Rossi, Ellen is rubbing shoulders with the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, and Jeremy Clarkson in their quaint new town.

Clarkson played host to the couple at his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, where they were spotted enjoying an acoustic night with celebs including Natalie Imbruglia, Lisa Hogan, and James Blunt. A snap from the evening was shared on Instagram with the caption: “@natalie_imbruglia @thetallirish @jamesblunt what a great night in the pub with @thecorrsofficial ..the way a good pub night should be ..acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends @jeremyclarkson1 thanks for organising it!”

But fans did a double-take as Ellen debuted a dramatic new look, ditching her signature blonde hair for a dark pixie cut.

PEOPLE magazine got the scoop from a source who dished that Ellen and Portia have been mingling with Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan and singer James Blunt, while enjoying a performance by The Corrs at the local pub. The insider also spilled the beans on Ellen’s move, confirming that after months of house hunting, she’s officially a UK homeowner, as reported by the Express.

Another source confided to PEOPLE: “Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after.”

After nearly 20 years in the spotlight, Ellen chose to take a step back following allegations of a toxic workplace environment in 2020. As a result, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which had been on air for 19 seasons, broadcasted its last episode in May 2022.

Her decision to move might have been influenced by recent US general election results. An insider revealed to the Daily Mail: “An enormous part of the US doesn’t like her because of her sexual preferences, and others were turned off by her persona, which some perceived to be fake in the wake of the workplace allegations.

They further added that she finds it “easier to move away from her problems” than to “confront them,” noting that the entire incident “seems like a sad end to what she once was in people’s minds.”
