On February 20, viewers watched as more tragedy unfolded with Amy’s death, a few days after three other residents’ demise were confirmed. Amy lost her fight for life after the limo crash which fell through an icy lake.
She was taken to the hospital after suffering from severe hypothermia. She had a seizure but suffered a cardiac arrest and passed way. Amy had only regained consciousness and found the strength to tell Matty Barton about the body she saw in the lake. She feared it was the body of missing Nate Robinson.
Unfortunately, her husband didn’t understand what she was trying to say. Matty believed she was saying she was in the water and as Amy cried, she told him she loved him before suddenly taking a turn for the worse. As she appeared to flatline the doctors raced in but were unable to save her.
Following the shock death, the actress took to her social media to break her silence on the moment. She posted a screenshot of the heartbreaking moment of her death along with the words: “We were meant to grow old together.” She added a heartbroken emoji.
Fans took to social media after watching the emotional moment to share their heartbreak over her death. One viewer posted: “Why do all my favourite show characters end up dying!! oh Emmerdale what have you done today I am sobbing.”
Another agreed: “3rd day in a row sobbing at Emmerdale. Give them all the awards like now.” A third viewer added: “Well, I’m absolutely sobbing,” as a fourth said: “Kyle at Amy’s bedside, I am a MESS.”
Underneath Emmerdale’s picture of her dead body in the hospital bed, one person commented: “I am so gutted ! This week has been heartbreaking. I’ve not stopped crying. Thanks for an amazing week in Emmerdale. So sad to see 3 people leave, but I really look forward to seeing those in future roles.”
