Albania is among the most in demand holiday destinations for Brits thanks to its stunning beaches, low prices and being Europe’s ‘Maldives’, according to new research

Spain’s reign as a holiday favourite could be under threat, with Albania now emerging as a hot destination for Brits in search of new experiences.

Fresh insights from Dubai Tours and Tickets have placed the Southeastern European gem Albania high on the UK travellers’ wish list.

Analysing Britons’ Google inquiries using buzzwords such as “holidays,” “flights,” and “trips” across 250 nations over a year revealed a growing curiosity for fresh digs.

With an impressive 54,929 average monthly searches, “Holiday Albania” scored 37,583 of those, overshadowing classic go-tos like Spain, Portugal, and Iceland.

Albania’s surge in appeal is hardly a shocker given its cost-effective allure, reports the Express.

Punters can enjoy a pint for barely £1.07 to £2.10, sip on a cuppa for approximately £1.50, and fill their shopping carts for nearly 40 percent less dough compared to back home.

Not just easy on the wallet, Albania dazzles with its breath-taking vistas, glistening waters, and secluded nooks ideal for unwinding under the sun.

Jetting off to paradise is smooth with daily departures from major UK hangars to Albania a trifling three-hour jaunt unveils a haven worth ticking off your bucket list, be it basking on Gjipe Beach via the picturesque Canyon of Gjipe or whatever tickles your fancy.

The stunning Ksamil, nestled along the Albanian Riviera, is making waves on social media, with influencers dubbing it “Europe’s answer to the Maldives” due to its soaring popularity online. If you’re keen to experience its charm, better hurry before it becomes as crowded as the Maldives itself.

Magdalena Petrusic from Dubai Tours and Tickets commented: “The power of social media has likely exposed Brits to some destinations they would never have thought of, which don’t necessarily break the bank.”

She added: “This can be seen with the popularity of Albania, which from social media has been described as ‘the Maldives of Europe’.”
