A video clip of Europe’s most ‘immersive’ water slide has left viewers divided, as some say it looks horrific while others plan to give it a go

A video of Europe’s most ‘immersive’ racing water slide has left Instagram users divided, with the slide proving somewhat controversial on the photo and video-sharing app.

The video, shared by thrill-seeker and water park enthusiast Alex Ojeda, showed off The Piranha waterslide at Miramar Waterpark in Germany. Captioning the clip, Alex wrote: “Europe’s most IMMERSIVE racing water slide! [mind-blown emoji] Would you try this? @miramarweinheim.”

It showed Alex going on the side with POV clips of the slide’s flashy interior which included spots, stripes and flashing lights throughout its 242-metre length.

And while Alex certainly seemed to enjoy the slide, some of his followers weren’t so sure.

One social media user commented: “Any enclosed water slide is an immediate no from me.” Another said: “People with trypophobia and claustrophobia gasping for breath.” And fourth asked: “Anyone else’s claustrophobia would never let them?”

And it wasn’t just claustrophobia that concerned travellers, with some sharing that they’d be scared of getting stuck, while another questioned: “How the hell do they clean it?”

However, not everyone agreed and some even said they’d like to give the slide a try. One wrote: “I would love to go on this!!!” And a second commented: “Rather these then them all black abyss slides, feel like im sliding to my death.”

Another said: “Love it! ( if it gets to be to much close your eyes)” A fourth question why the video made anyone nervous, commenting: “Why do people get anxiety from a waterslide wtf.”

For those wanting to take a turn on the slide, the Miramar waterpark is located in Weinheim with an all-day ticket for children costing 10,90€, with a teenage ticket for 25,90€, and adult entry for 31,90€.

Family tickets are also available an children can get free entry to the premises on their birthday.
