A moving video circulating online shows the moment Liam Payne met a fan who wanted to thank the singer for saving his life

A fan told Liam Payne ‘you saved my life’ in a touching moment filmed shortly before the singer’s tragic death. The heartwarming interaction was shared online by @leogrun99, prompting thousands of emotional responses from fans in the wake of Liam’s death.

The 31-year-old star was found dead on Wednesday after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires, officials confirmed. The star had recently travelled to Argentina to watch his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan perform.

In footage shared on TikTok, Liam appears to be enthusiastically greeting fans outside his hotel. While social media users were unclear exactly when the videos were filmed, it’s thought to come from one of Liam’s final interactions with supporters.

“You saved my life,” a fan tells Liam in one of the moving clips. In response, Liam pulls him in for a hug and they pose for a photo showing off their matching tattoos. In the clip, Liam also jokes and laughs with the fan before sharing how he designed another of his tattoos that the fan admired. The star was known for his multiple tattoos, which included his family coat of arms and his X-Factor number in Roman numerals.

@leogrun99 shared more clips filmed on the same day, including one in which Liam asked fans for help with his Spanish and another which saw the singer waving to the crowd from afar. “Are you okay, Liam?” a fan asks in one of the poignant clips. “Yea, I’m good,” he replied.

Reacting to the posts, heartbroken fans said they took comfort from the footage. “He met a true fan right in the end,” one commented. Another urged people to check on the fan, adding: “So glad he was able to show him love.” Someone else simply penned: “Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes??”
