The poster said he was asked his boss to post the food hack, but people have been left questioning why a person would do this and questioning if it was even a hack
A food fan’s sauce ‘hack’ has left his followers asking the same baffled question.
The TikTok poster is seen with a small round carton of sauce which he gradually expands by expanding the edges. He reveals that he was his boss asked him to post the food hack where the food carton is flattened into a disc shape by expanding the container. His own comments on the post raised more questions about why he posted the short video. He wrote in the caption “When your manager sends you a food hack to post that everyone has known about for years.” The post was even called: “You knew this already right?”
But the ‘hack’ has left people bemused and questioning why it is needed. One person said: ‘I’m just trying to figure out the ‘hack’ here give me a second.” And more of the confused comments followed with one response saying: “But why would u want to do that?” Another commenter called Kate agreed, she said: “The question is why on earth would you do that?!”
The post also attracted a fair amount of surprised posters asking why he had even taken the trouble of posting it. One said: “What is the hack? It’s still the same amount of sauce”. Another was even more scathing in his comments saying: “Is the hack in the room with us?” Some commenters said: “You are supposed to do that before you put the sauce in so you can put more sauce in it.”
Others simply said: “I see people do this and will never understand why.” The TikTok video was posted by @mob, but it led to even more confusion with others saying the sauce cartons are manufactured like that so they can be spread open. But others described the ‘hack’ as “messy”.
The Mirror reported on another food hack viral influencer Andre who has amassed a whopping 7.9 million followers, recently took to the same social network to share his ‘favourite’ life hack. The content creator, replied to a video that claims you can use a saucepan lid to get all of the sauce out of the sachet without chaos ensuing. He starts by cutting horizontally across an Old El Paso cooking sauce sachet with a pair of scissors, then drops the packet straight into a saucepan.
Holding the bottom of the pouch, Andre he then puts the lid on the pan and makes sure to keep it pressed down – while simultaneously pulling the sachet out. All of the sauce is now in the pan, and there is no need to wipe down the counters or your hands. For smaller packets of sauce like single-servings of condiments, you can use a smaller lid and place it over a bowl or ramekin dish.
Thousands of impressed viewers visited comments section to hail the hack and promising to try it out. “The packet/lid hack is literally the best hack I have ever seen online,” one user raved. “I use it all the time.” Another agreed, saying: “How did I not know this?” And a third added: “I need to go try the sauce pouch one with cat food pouches,” while a fourth branded the tip as ‘very helpful’.
