The Only Way Is Essex legend Gemma Collins showed off a secret skill – piano playing. She was filmed tinkling the ivories, and singing with a gospel choir, in front of shocked commuters at London’s Liverpool Street Station

Gemma Collins has turned her hand to many jobs throughout her career – including car sales, clothing boutique owner, reality star and author – and now she can add pianist to the list.

The 44-year-old surprised commuters when she sat down for an impromptu performance, cracking out one of the most complicated pieces of music ever written… “Chopsticks”. The piece, which is actually called Flohwalzer, is played by beginners and amateurs all over the world.

Gemma took to the keys as part of Channel 4’s PIANOTHON, a 24-hour concert at London Liverpool Street Station to mark the start of the third series of The Piano.

The Piano is presented by Claudia Winkleman, and sees gifted amateur pianists play live at some of the UK’s busiest train stations. However, they are blissfully unaware that they are being judged by esteemed pianist Lang Lang and pop singer Mika, who are looking for finalists to perform to a concert audience of thousands.

Speaking of her involvement in the PIANOTHON, Gemma said: “I loved having the chance to be part of the PIANOTHON with Channel 4 and doing something a bit different.

“It was a chance see the GC in a new light. I was a bit disappointed I couldn’t ship my leopard-print piano into Liverpool Street Station, though!

“Music is about connecting with people and sharing moments of joy, and what is more joyful than surprising people in a train station with loads of brilliant music? Maybe this is the start of something exciting for me – watch this space!”

She also mused about the days when she was a humble office temp who would commute from Essex into Liverpool Street daily for bookings at offices across The City.

Away from the ivories, she also showed off her fabulous singing skills when she joined a gospel choir to sing Whitney Houston’s 80s classic I Want To Dance With Somebody. Back in 2018, The GC amazed fans and the judges on All Together Now when she belted out Big Spender by Shirley Bassey.

Gemma likes to surround herself with other musicians, and two of her BFFs are former X Factor stars John and Edward, aka Jedward.

Last month they told the Mirror that every time they see their friend she is looking slimmer and happier than ever.

The twins said: “Every time we see her, there’s always a change. She looks like she’s getting younger by the day! When you’re on your own weightloss journey, you don’t necessarily see the changes, because you keep seeing yourself every day. But when you haven’t seen each other for a week or two, like us with Gemma – woah, we could see the difference!”

Gemma is thought to have dropped four dress sizes and more than two stone after turning to fat loss injections. She previously said have she “tried almost every diet” with no success and after careful consideration she started taking GLP-1 weight loss injections under medical supervision.
