iD Mobile has a new offer that hands out a Fitbit device to shoppers for £0 – and here’s how

Looking for a new phone as we head into 2025 and keen to kickstart your fitness journey?

iD Mobile has an offer that might seem too good to be true, giving away a Fitbit device for free. Anyone looking for a mobile upgrade can get the FitBit Versa 4 for £0 when they purchase the Pixel 9 Pro.

The Google device has become a serious contender in the Android mobile market, and this deal makes it even more irresistible. For just £26.99 per month, customers will enter into a 24-month contract, which includes unlimited data, texts and messages, plus the FitBit worth £120 for £0 – a bargain in our opinion, as we explain below.

Overall, this plan costs just over £878 in total for the mobile, data and texts, plus the free Fitbit. That’s roughly £100 cheaper than buying the device outright, as you can see by comparing with Amazon’s deal here.

The total £878 price breaks down to the £29.99 monthly rate for two years plus the £159 upfront cost. Hefty upfront contracts are always a downside, and unfortunately, there’s no way to avoid this with this specific deal, reports the Express.

If you need a solid endorsement of the phone, Mirror Tech editor Dave Snelling gave his thoughts. Getting a look at all four devices in the range, he said: “The 9 and 9 Pro range are handsome handsets that feel like they are built to last – you also get seven years of software updates to make sure they fully stand the test of time.

“The big differences between spending less or going Pro are an improved display which offers a higher resolution, brighter visuals (3,000 nits on Pro compared to the Pixel 9’s 2,700 nits) and the ability to drop the Pro’s refresh rate down to 1Hz which helps save battery life.

“The more premium models come in two sizes including a 6.3-inch version and that massive 6.8-inch XL model. The small Pro has the same dimensions as the regular Pixel 9 to the point Google sells one case for both models.

“There’s little doubt that the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro are superior smartphones but they are also much more expensive. Unless you really feel that you need a Telephoto lens, that slightly better screen and improved video recording we’d recommend the cheaper Pixel 9.”

Other mobile deals worth looking at

If you’re hunting for some deals, Sky offers some of the most affordable prices – but be warned: these are lengthy 36-month contracts, so while the monthly rate is cheaper you’ll be tied in for a lot longer.

They’re offering the iPhone 16 Pro from just £33 a month, excluding the airtime plan. Looking for another option?

Samsung might have something to pique your interest with its free gifts. The South Korean tech giants have been dishing out free laptops, earbuds and more as part of a new promotion when you purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S24 or S24 Ultra. For a limited time, you can bag a Samsung Chromebook Go when you buy a Galaxy S24 or a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro3 if you opt for one of Samsung’s tablet offers including the S10 Tab.
