Heinz has launched a new twist on baked beans in time for Christmas – but not everyone is convinced that the festive new product is a good idea saying surely the bacon would be ‘soggy’

Heinz is always on the ball, whipping up fresh and creative products to tantalise every palate.

Yet, their newest concoction has left folks scratching their heads, pondering if it’s a bit over the top as we gear up for the festive season. The battle for pigs in blankets is real come Christmas Day, with relatives vying for an extra serving of the savoury, addictive treat. But would you be keen on them mixed in your beans?

That’s precisely what Heinz is dishing out with their latest product. For a mere £2.50, you can “crack them open for a taste of Christmas on your toast”, the retailer’s website suggests.

“Need proof that Santa got your wish list? Well, here it is! Beanz, pigs in blankets, and Christmas seasoning all in one can,” boasts the food behemoth’s website. To rustle up the sausages, Heinz joined forces with Richmond, branding the product as ‘limited edition’ meaning you’ll need to move fast to sink your teeth into it.

However, not everyone’s thrilled about this new item, with some critics claiming Heinz has “taken it too far now” with their recent launches.

Other quirky Heinz creations have included Monster Munch pickled onion flavour mayo, and even an ‘Everything Sauce’ that blends together every sauce Heinz produces.

Someone erupted with disdain, quipping: “Tinned pigs in blankets to go with your canned burgers and canned chicken”, while others voiced mixed emotions, remarking: “Not sure how I feel about these”, “That’s going to be rough it’s going to be soggy bacon”, and bluntly stating “No thank you”.

Yet, some were keen to compare this new offering favourably against other innovative products, with one comment noting: “I hated the Cathedral City Cheese beans but might give these a whirl”.

A particular enthusiast on social media expressed eagerness to try, proclaiming: “I need to try them”, prompting curious queries from fellow users, such as: “Where from? “.

The connoisseurs at Snack Reviews couldn’t contain their excitement about the bean tin, saying: “It’s a festive twist that brings together two much-loved foods: classic Heinz Baked Beanz and the seasonal favourite, pigs in blankets that we spotted new in Sainsbury’s today.”

Thrilled by the concept, they described it as “a treat that takes a well-loved dish and gives it a festive makeover, making it perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit without much effort” “tasty and quick” being key attributes.

Further spreading the buzz, the website advised: “The Limited Edition Heinz Baked Beanz and Pigs in Blankets are bound to sell quickly, so make sure to add them to your shopping list if you’re popping by Sainsbury’s, or online at the official Heinz website”, framing them as a must-have “seasonal treat”.
