Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the drone strike attack, saying it launched a “squadron of attack drones” on an Israeli military training camp in Binyamina

Israeli rescue service says that 67 people have been wounded in Hezbollah drone strike in central Israel.

The strike hit the town of Binyamina, which sits between Haifa and Tel Aviv on Israel’s coastline. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it launched a “squadron of attack drones” on an Israeli military training camp in Binyamina.

The drone strike near Binyamina came after two of the devices headed towards Israel, with ambulances and air force helicopters deployed to evacuate the wounded. Air defences shot down one of the drones over the sea, but the second impacted. No sirens were heard ahead of the attack, and the military is now investigating. Sources told the Mirror there were serious injuries.

Local Israeli Channel 12 reported that disaster relief organisation and non-profit Magen David Adom said that four people were left in critical condition, a further five in critical condition, and 14 in moderate condition. Several victims are thought to have died and the toll may rise.

The remaining people were lightly hurt in the strike, with everyone involved sent evacuated to nearby hospitals. The Times of Israel reported that most were taken to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, with others taken to Sheba Hospital in Ramat Gan, Rambam Hospital in Haifa, and Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

Al Jazeera said a Hezbollah source informed their journalists that the group carried out the attack using “a squadron of suicide drones”. The official also boasted of the group’s capabilities, adding: “The capabilities of the resistance are still strong and capable of reaching Israel’s rear.”
