Prison guard Linda De Sousa Abreu had big plans for her future with the inmate in HMP Wandsworth and told psychiatrists she was ‘in love’ with the convicted burglar
It’s been claimed that the disgraced prison guard who was filmed having sex with an inmate at HMP Wandsworth was ‘in love’ with the man behind bars and had plans for a life together when he was released. Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, was jailed for 15 months after pleading guilty to misconduct in a public office at Isleworth Crown Court in July.
However, it’s been revealed she was planning to continue seeing the prisoner because he made her “feel like a gangster”. She was filmed romping with convicted burglar Linton Weirich in a cell while she was on duty and in her uniform and it’s believed she saw him as her “protector” and rewarded him with “sexual services”.

De Sousa Abreu lived with her partner and their seven-year-old daughter, but according to Daily Mail, Venezuelan-born De Sousa Abreu was seen by Dr Iain Kooyman, a consultant forensic psychiatrist who prepared a report for sentencing disclosed details of her mindset of the relationship.
Dr Kooyman revealed that the 31-year-old told him that she ‘loved’ Weirich, who himself had a heavily pregnant girlfriend at the time. The psychiatrist, found she suffered from severe borderline personality disorder and ADHD said she told him she had never felt as safe as when she was with Weirich and she “planned for their liaison to continue on the outside after his release.”
Referring to the psychiatric report, as well as a letter written to him personally by De Sousa Abreu, Judge Edmunds KC told the defendant: “A clearer assessment comes in my view, from Dr Kooyman who observed that, although you felt unsupported, you enjoyed the sense of power that came with your position, the prisoners doing as you asked, saying you became grandiose and delusional, your mood high and that you loved working there.
“You told him that you developed a close attachment to the prisoner to the extent of wanting the relationship to continue after he was released, you say that you loved him, that you never felt so safe in your life and you ‘felt like a gangster’. You said that you did not believe that consequences existed for you and did not think that you would be caught. Looking back, you now say that he groomed you.”
It comes after De Sousa Abreu previously appeared on Channel 4 swingers show Open House: The Great Sex Experiment, alongside her MMA fighter husband. The programme followed swinger couples to a luxury retreat to find out if having open relationships and sex with other people could strengthen their bond.
Introducing herself on the show, De Sousa Abreu said: “Monogamy is a social construct that I think needs to be dismantled. Opening up our relationship has allowed us to form a deeper connection with each other.” Her sister told Mail Online: “She was on a Channel Four programme called Open House. I never saw it. It’s not the sort of thing I’d watch with my little sister in. I only found out that she worked for the prison service in January. That’s when I spoke to her and said do not mix your lifestyle with work. Don’t be stupid, don’t do stupid things.”
