Police have launched an investigation after suspected human remains were found near bushes in south-east London.
Officers were called to Sewell Road, in Thamesmead, at around 12.30pm yesterday to reports of “suspected human remains/bones” found in the area. Forensic officers are working to examine the item and determine its origins – and have set up a cordon in the area.
Although the Metropolitan Police have not yet clarified whether or not human remains or bones have been found, they have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing. A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called at 12:36hrs on Wednesday, 6 November to reports of suspected human remains/bones at Sewell Road, Thamesmead.
“A cordon has been put in place while forensic officers examine the item and establish its origins. Enquiries are ongoing.”
