Cory is currently holidaying in America with his wife Lea with the sole purpose of sampling a variety of fast food options he is unable try back home in the UK
A self-confessed “morbidly obese British man” has taken to TikTok to reveal what he eats in a day whilst holidaying in the United States.
Cory, who has travelled to New York City with his wife, Lea, admitted he’s only in the country to sample the fast food it has to offer. “I started off the day with a Maccy’s [McDonald’s] breakfast,” he began. “You can’t not try it when you’re in America.”
Showcasing his morning meal, Cory purchased a Coke Zero along with a Big Breakfast with Hotcakes – which according to the restaurant giant’s menu includes “warm biscuit, savoury hot sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, and golden brown hotcakes with a side of real butter and the sweet flavour of maple syrup”.
“I’m coming back another day to try the McGriddle,” Cory added, referring to a breakfast sandwich unavailable back home in the UK. Next, he visited Chipotle – a Mexican grill chain with branches across the US.
“I’ve seen this on all the American films, so we had to try it,” Cory confessed, before revealing Lea tried a jacket potato burrito whilst he opted for a beef taco with cheese and sour cream. “I gave that a 10 out of 10,” he enthused.
Cory’s third stop took him to Taco Bell, where he went for a burrito, taco, nachos and the Gordita Supreme – featuring beef, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and a three-cheese blend on a pitta-bread gordita shell. “I’ve got to be honest, the British Taco Bell is so much better than here,” he added in a short but scathing review.
“It’s nice to experience new things, but my taste buds have been confused,” Cory explained afterwards in defence of eatery. As night fell, the pair visited some of the Big Apple’s tourist hotspots – but not without a McDonald’s Frozen Fanta Blue Raspberry slush drink – a modest 100 calorie addition to Cory’s experience.
His dining wasn’t done there, however, as Cory and Lea stopped at “one last place for food” in the form of Chick-fil-A. “This exceeded my expectations – the best thing we’ve had in America,” he gushed.
Cory’s choices didn’t go down well amongst his followers, meanwhile, as one person slammed: “It’s wild that you guys are in a city with endless food options and you eat fast food garbage.” A second agreed: “McDonald’s, Chipotle and Taco Bell, what? Get us some proper NYC food content! Bagels and pizza delis come on!”
A third person suggested: “You’re going to all the chain restaurants, go in the back street authentic ones and you’ll see a difference.” Whilst a fourth hit out: “Traveling all the way to New York to get McDonald’s breakfast and not a bacon, egg n cheese bagel is crazy.”
Defending the actions of Cory and Lea, however, one fan penned in response: “Everyone complaining – the food is different, the ingredients are completely different, so different tastes. Just let them eat.”
