A TikTok doctor has revealed how to banish those pesky migraines for good, and it’s much simpler than you think.

Daria Sadovskaya, 30, Singapore, has been a nephrologist for seven years and often uses her TikTok to shares everyday health insights and medical facts. In her latest video which has 20,000 views, Daria shocked her followers revealing how to get rid of migraines with just one simple hack. The video has left her viewers divided with many wishing they’d heard this one sooner, and others not so convinced.

She said: “Soaking your legs in hot water, specifically in the form of a warm bath, may help relieve migraines through a process called vasodilation. Warm water can cause blood vessels to expand, promoting better blood circulation throughout the body. This may help to ease tension and reduce the intensity of a migraine.

“Additionally, the relaxing effect of a warm bath can alleviate stress and muscle tension, which are common contributors to headaches. However, it’s not a magic pill and the effects may vary from person to person. Migraine experiencing likelihood can be increased by genetics, hormonal changes, certain medications, sleep disturbances, stress, and specific triggers like certain foods or environmental factors.”

Daria has revealed which groups of people are more likely to experience migraines and what signs to look for. She added: “Women are generally more prone, especially during hormonal fluctuations like menstruation. A family history of migraines, age – most commonly starting in adolescence, and certain medical conditions can also elevate the risk. Likewise environmental factors, including weather changes, can trigger migraines in some people”.

“Common triggers include changes in barometric pressure, high humidity, extreme heat or cold, and bright or flickering lights,” said the TikTok doctor, who added: “Additionally, strong smells, certain foods, and specific patterns of sleep disruption can contribute to migraines.

“One or two days before a migraine, you may notice subtle changes that warn of an upcoming migraine. For example constipation, fluid retention, increased urination, frequent yawning, mood changes, neck stiffness”.

The TikTok doc has also spoken about what reaction she received from her followers to this hack. She added: “The audience in the comments was split into two groups: those who agree and find this hack very helpful, and those who claim it doesn’t work.

“As I said before, unfortunately there’s no such hack that helps everyone, when it comes to migraines.” Ruelle responded saying: “POV: it doesn’t.” Yserame added: “It does, I tried it!”

Tami retaliated: “Hmm that’s not true,” to which Julia responded by saying: “It’s true actually, maybe it just doesn’t work for you.”

Joy then said: “Sounds like right, because isn’t a migraine lack of blood circulation to the head, and warmness widens the blood veins,” with Deanquez concluding: “Even having a hot shower does it as well or the gym steam rooms”.

With just under 200,000 followers and over 16 million likes on the social media platform, the TikTok doctor also speaks on the effect of alcohol, on managing IBS and skin care techniques. Her popularity skyrocketed in 2023 when the health and wellness influencer uploaded a video on how to defeat constipation which achieved a staggering 23 million views.
