A successful Vinted seller has shared her three top tips on how she started earning hundreds of pounds for selling her kids’ old items on the reselling app – and it’s easier than you might think
As the cost of living crisis continues to make our everyday lives more expensive, people are turning to Vinted to sell their old items as a way to earn a bit of extra cash.
Vinted seller Jess Wolf, known online as The Pilot’s Wife, took to TikTok to share her top tips on how she increased her Vinted earnings by hundreds of pounds with three simple adjustments.
“So I set up my Vinted in August and I made about £400 in four weeks,” Jess shared. “And then I gave it a bit of a break for a couple of weeks because, quite honestly, life just got a bit on top of me.
“So I have been back up and running for a little while now, and I’m back on it, so, back to selling two to six items a day, so I thought I’d share some tips.”
Three ways to boost Vinted sales
1. Stick to a couple of items a day
Jess, who mostly sells her kids’ old clothes, recommends flogging garments in stages if you’ve got a lot to get through.
She advised: “If you’ve got a lot of stuff, then upload to your ‘wardrobe’. Then after that, upload one or two items every single day.”
Jess explained that this technique makes sure to keep you on top of the app’s algorithm and prevents your items from getting lost in the endless list of other listings on the app.
Hopefully, this also means people will keep clicking on your items. She added: “The more people that click on it, the quicker you’re gonna sell your stuff. So that would be a number one tip.”
2. Be efficient
Her second tip is to make sure to post things as quickly as possible. To do this, have your items washed and in an accessible place, ready to be sent to the buyer. She also recommends having bags at home as well, as they’re cheaper to send than boxes.
Jess added: “The other thing is, know where your In Post lockers are, your drop off points, your Yodel or your DPD, whatever.” This makes a lot of sense – as it’s easier to send something off if you know where you’re going beforehand.
3. Accept fast
For her final tip, Jess urged people to accept all credible offers that come in on their items. And you need to be fast!
She said: “I accept offers on everything. If you’re gonna accept offers, do it quickly. I accept offers because I wanna get rid [of her items]. If anyone offers anything, as soon as I see it, I accept it.”
The reasoning is clear – if they’ve given you an offer, they’ve most likely done offers on other items as well.
Jess argued that the reason most people don’t end up buying something when they’ve made an offer is because they’ve bought a similar item from somewhere else. But if you’re then fast at accepting offers, they’ll most likely end up buying your item.
She added: “If you don’t want to accept offers because you are looking to earn a certain amount of money, make your price on your listing just a bit higher. If you do it that way, then when they offer it, you’re more likely to get the price that you’re looking for.”
So there you have it – three easy methods that could help to boost your Vinted sales in no time!
