A woman has taken to TikTok to share her love for her new heated airer – and has even joked that it’s possible to be ‘attracted’ to a household item after falling for it
The heated airer has become the latest sensation for those battling to dry laundry in the cold weather, emerging as a cheap substitute for pricey tumble dryers.
Lauded for its gentle treatment on clothes, one woman proclaimed her love for the device so much that she humorously claimed to ‘fancy’ it, sending her followers into fits of laughter.
TikToker Katie Kohn shared her infatuation with her heated clothes airer, cheekily suggesting that it’s possible to find the gadget attractive. Demonstrating its use to the tune of Surf Mesa’s “ily (i love you baby)”, she stated: “Is it possible to be attracted to a clothes dryer? I know this is such a middle-aged thing to say but hear me out plz. The clothes clutter is out of sight.”
With a playful tone, she continued: “Turn on those low energy heating vibez then have a warm and freshly scented living room. Fit.” Her video won over her audience, sparking inquiries about drying times and the source of her fabulous appliance. Katie responded, mentioning her model: “We got the one which is : 73 x 75 x 137H (currently £149.99 on Lakeland”. It seems she’s talking about the Dry:Soon 3 Tier Heated Airer.
One TikTok user was curious about the drying time, asking: “How long does it take with the full rack!” The poster replied: “Depend on how heavy the fabric is I guess! But tbh, probs a day if we left the heat on in the winter (in the summer we don’t use the heat though).”
Another fan, impressed by the product, simply stated: “Super alternative.” The amusing video went viral, amassing over 26,000 views on TikTok, leading to several followers inquiring where she got her heated airer from.
One person exclaimed: “I was looking for an alternative way to use my drying rack and THIS IS IT! Thank you!” While another commented: “OMG god this looks dope!”
A heated airer works by using warm rails to quickly dry clothes and requires plugging into an electrical socket. Some models even come with covers to further hasten the drying process.
