It’s a time of major change for Zoe Ball. Not only did she recently step down as host of Radio 2’s breakfast show after six years, but she’s decided to give her home a major overhaul, too.

Zoe, 54, took to Instagram to share a personal video with her fans, detailing the recent transformation of her garden. The clip shows the outside both before-and-after its makeover – and the end result is very impressive.

In a caption to accompany her post, Zoe explained: “life lately…. from astroturf & no plants to an oasis of calm, wonder & gorgeous planting, my new happy place. I have loved working with @henryagg on the transformation of our city garden. Henry is a local Sussex garden designer, we connected over our love of gardening to help with wellbeing.

“The Amelanchier from @formplants have my whole heart. major props to the boys @r.d.landscapes this wasn’t an easy task with hardly any access and a hell of a lot of digging/muscle power.” She concluded: “more magic to come, as the plants come to life. So grateful for the rain yesterday….”

Zoe’s fans loved the transformation and were quick to take to the comments section. “Such a lovely space… and once you’re hooked on gardening I promise you’ve got years of happiness ahead of you!” one remarked.

“Just stunning! And timed perfectly to see it transform through the spring,” a second said, while a third joked: “Ooooh love this! Please can Henry come on a little Northumberland vacay?!”

A fourth noted: “I love that Zoe is showcasing all these amazing, local businesses and doesn’t seem to be part of an #ad campaign as many other celebs/influencers use. Wish this happens more!!!”

It comes shortly after it was confirmed that the radio star has secured a significant TV presenting role just months after stepping down from her breakfast radio show.

Zoe is set to host a concert arranged to commemorate VE Day, which will air from 8pm to 10pm on May 8 on BBC One and iPlayer. It will be broadcast from Horse Guards Parade in London.

In a statement released by the BBC, Zoe expressed her excitement about her new role: “I’m truly honoured to play a small role in the celebrations of such a momentous occasion. My dear Dad Johnny Ball was 6 years old on VE Day, his memories of that time are incredible.

“Our great grandparents, and grandparents, our families, our nation went through so much. The bravery and sacrifices of so many for our freedom, we must always remember and this will be a very special night with some magnificent performances.”

Earlier this year, Zoe waved goodbye to her BBC Radio 2 early morning breakfast show, with close friend Scott Mills stepping up to fill her shoes. However, come May, she’ll be back gracing the airwaves of Radio 2 with a new Saturday programme from 1 to 3pm, where she promises to deliver a mix of favourite tunes and plenty of laughter.
