Blake Lively and Taylor Swift had a messy friendship break-up and fans think it’ll feature in the new album The Life Of A Showgirl, which is set for release on Friday

Will there be a song about Blake Lively on the new Taylor Swift album?

Taylor Swift is well-known for writing songs about her friends and boyfriends. Following a messy friendship break-up with Blake Lively, fans think they know which song on the singer’s upcoming album will be about her former best friend.

The Life Of A Showgirl is Taylor’s 12th studio album and will be released on October 3. The track list has already dropped, giving fans a glimpse of what the album may be like. Fans have been guessing what these songs may sound like and taken to TikTok to post videos of their predictions.

Ruin The Friendship is the title of one of the songs, and several fans have guessed that this might be about Blake, as she and Taylor seem to have fallen out.

The actress reportedly involved Taylor in her lawsuit against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, despite the singer not wanting to be dragged into it. Sources close to Taylor have said she feels like she was “used as intimidation tactic” by Blake, who is said to have referred to her as one of her “dragons” over text.

One fan made a video with suggested lyrics for the song, and referenced the lawsuit: “I’m gonna ruin the friendship, yeah. I am not naming any names, Blake. No I never sent those texts, Justin. Don’t come running to me.” Over the top, the fan included a screenshot from a news article about how Taylor was pulled into the lawsuit.

Another made a similar video, singing, “You threaten me, yeah, you’ve ruined the friendship” and a third referenced both Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, ultimately calling Blake “poison Lively”.

“Blake, Blake, for goodness sake, you had ample opportunity to clear the air,” the fan sang. “But instead you included me. Seems like you ruined the friendship when you tear apart our kinship. And you know I’ve been trying, the amount of calls I had with Ryan. Feels like a step in poison ivy but instead, I think it’s just poison Lively.”

Taylor and Blake used to be so close, the singer included Blake’s children’s names in her songs – James, Betty and Inez all featured in songs on the album folklore, one of which was called Betty. But, is rumours are to be believed, this would be the first song written about Blake herself.

Taylor has also written a song about a friendship break-ups before, including her 1989 single Bad Blood. The song, which was accompanied by a music video featuring several celebrities Taylor was friendly with, is said to be about her feud with Katy Perry.

Many of Taylor’s songs are about real people, though most of them are former boyfriends and flings, particularly on The Tortured Poets Department, which featured songs rumoured to be about the 1975’s Matty Healy, actor Joe Alwyn and the singer’s current fiancé Travis Kelce.
