Coronation Street viewers think they know who killed Lisa Swain’s ex Becky, after spoilers teased a new scene with villain Matty Radcliffe amid Carla Connor’s attack
There could be a dark death twist on the way on Coronation Street if a new fan theory is anything to go by.
Viewers have known for a while now that DS Lisa Swain’s partner Becky was killed in the line of duty. The fellow police officer died a few years ago, leaving Lisa and their daughter Betsy heartbroken and struggling to move on.
Amid Lisa’s looming romance with Carla Connor, which has left Swarla fans in meltdown, there could be a dramatic twist on the way. Lisa might finally be about to find out who caused or was at least involved in her wife Becky’s death.
A new scene teased in spoilers drops a major hint about who caused her murder, with Lisa convinced she’s stumbled across new evidence. Viewers now believe this will lead to Lisa finding out who was to blame, and that the case will be solved.
In a scene airing this week, fans will see new villain Matty Radcliffe make a chilling comment about Becky’s passing in front of Lisa, amid Carla’s brutal attack. When Lisa hears the jibe she’s horrified, but immediately suspects there’s more to it.
She will begin looking into it, wondering if Matty killed her partner as why else would he comment about what happened to her? Lisa is furious and believes Matty is connected to what happened to her – but is she right?
Viewers certainly think so, taking to social media to share their own theories. Viewers now believe Matty or his brother Logan Radcliffe may have caused Becky’s death, or maybe they were there when it happened.
Are they involved in her murder, and did one of them kill her? One theory read: “Becky might have been killed by Matty.” Another said: “I feel like the brothers are going to be tied into Becky’s death and other heinous stuff, that Mason will save the day (probably saving Tim and Sally and Betsy), and that will be his redemption arc started. #Corrie Solving Becky’s murder will also truly free Lisa to love again.”
A third viewer commented: “Could they have a vendetta against Lisa and it’s something to do with Becky?” A further theory read: “Imagine if Mason’s brothers did have something to do with Becky being killed. Imagine poor Betsy trying to process that her boyfriend’s brothers were responsible.” Viewers will have to wait and see where this goes!
