I’m A Celeb: Coleen Rooney recalls meeting ‘dirty’ Donald Trump
Campmate Coleen Rooney’s recalled meeting president-elect Donald Trump when she lived in the US, speaking about the experience on I’m A Celebrity this weekend.
Coleen, 38, is among the campmates on the new series of the ITV show, which launched last week. She’s given insights into her life whilst in the jungle in Australia and referenced having once lived stateside on Sunday night’s episode.
The TV personality, her husband Wayne Rooney, now 39, and their children are understood to have lived together in Washington, D.C. between 2018 and 2019. Now retired footballer Wayne played for team D.C. United at the time.
Coleen and Wayne – who later managed the team – were said to have been the guests of honour at a Christmas party held at the White House in December 2018. They reportedly visited the residence with their four sons Kai, now 15, Klay, now 11, Kit, now eight, and Cass, now six.
The experience was brought up by Coleen on the latest episode of I’m A Celebrity whilst in camp with her co-stars. She told some of the other campmates: “When we lived in America, we were invited to the White House for Christmas and we went in to meet … so it was Donald Trump [who was President].”
She continued in the discussion: “So we walked in and we got to get like y’know the official photograph taken in front of the Christmas tree and stuff. So Donald Trump said to his son ‘see? Told ya, all the soccer players get the good looking girls’. And I told my mum – I was like ‘dirty b*****d’.”
Coleen then continued by suggesting that Trump, now 78, had “wanted Wayne to go over to like teach his son … like play football with his son.” At the time of Coleen and her husband’s visit to the White House six years ago, it was reported that Trump and his wife Melania Trump’s son Barron Trump, now 18, was a fan of footballer Wayne and the sport.
During the discussion on I’m A Celebrity this week, fellow campmate and McFly member Danny Jones went on to ask Coleen about her experience with the politician: “Is he that orange?” Coleen said moments later: “He was very orange!”
